Hi everyone. I've only been on Etsy a few months, so there is a lot to learn! The first thing I was curious about was indexing. If I search for a listing in my shop, I find it. However, if I type in my shop name in Etsy search, literally nothing of mine comes up and it will say it doesn't exist. Is this normal, because I've clicked on a few random shops and then searched for their names, and it'll bring back all of the listings for that shop. I'll reach out to technical support again if I need to. Just wanted some insight. I feel like this could be an issue.
The second thing that has happened a few times now has to do with review stars. I was surprised recently when I was notified of a review that was 3 stars. I'm not saying I'm perfect, but I do quadruple check everything before I send it out. I tried to reach out to the forums for advice on that, but SURPRISE, another technical issue and I was unable to post. Everything was grayed out. I decided to reach out to my customer and see if there was a way I could make things better for her. She had left only stars and no feedback, so I had no point of reference for anything. She responded saying she absolutely loved her product and was trying to leave 5 stars, but I guess only one was populating. The system wouldn't let her select more. It saved as 3. I said I'd ask Etsy. So I did, and they said the only way for it to get fixed is to have the customer contact them or they can go in and change it. Just seems like such a hassle to make her do when she already tried to take the time out of her day to leave a review. So now there's a 3 star there. This happened the day before I was eligible to earn the star seller badge, which thankfully I still got. I just feel like it makes my shop look bad. This same thing happened again yesterday. A good friend of mine recently purchased something and I got a notification she left a review. It said 4 stars and immediately I knew that wasn't right, because she loves what she got. She said she definitely left 5 stars. She then went back in and fixed it. I asked Etsy if they were doing anything about this. They said its a recent known technical issue. I hate they're not doing anything about it. Is this happening to you guys as well? I'e stopped putting my little cards in my orders talking about leaving reviews, because I'm afraid this will happen again and I'll end up with a bunch of bad, inaccurate reviews. Sorry this is so long!

Re: Inaccurate Review Stars and Indexing
When "RoxburyMillCreations" is entered, the search will show your items only if you have tagged your items with your shop name.

Re: Inaccurate Review Stars and Indexing
Thanks so much for your response. I will look into tagging my items. And you're right. I checked and it does come up with my shop name in small letters after "Did you mean". That solves that question!

Re: Inaccurate Review Stars and Indexing
@RoxburyMillCreations One of the issues with stars is twofold 1) if using the app sometimes only 4 stars will be taken. 2) if the buyer fills in each star then sometimes it takes 3 or 4 and does not allow filling to five. Hover and select the 5th star.
Don't respond to the review. She can change it as long you don't respond to it.
If using a tag for your shop, use your name with spaces.

The app can be problematic at times.
If you have problems with a PC or laptop, make sure your browser is up to date. Your OS should be Windows 10 or 11. Anything older will have issues.
