In-person sale with POD items.

Hi.

I currently have an Etsy shop where most of my items are print on demand. I ordered some items in bulk to prepare for an in-person sale and I set up Square and synced the listings pretty easily. When I did a test sale, I got an email from the printing company confirming that they received the order and were going to fulfill it. Luckily I caught it in time to cancel it. Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass this but to still keep track of the designs you sell in person? I couldn't find anything helpful on Printful. Thanks!

By bypass it do you mean to stop the automatic fulfillment by your POD provider when you get an order? If so then yes, simply turn off automatic fulfillment and then you will have to manually approve each order. Or perhaps I am misunderstanding the issue.

Yes you are understanding the issue. Do you have any idea how to do that? I can’t figure out where or how to in Printify. I don’t want Printify to fulfill the order if I’m selling the item in person. Thanks!

I'm confused. If you are using POD then it's a logical step to assume you don't have DTG printer or your own sublimation printer and heat press equipment? How will you sell a POD item without having a POD fulfill it?

Maybe I missed something...?

I was confused too but I think they ordered some in bulk  to have on hand to sell in person as mentioned in the post. The issue is with Square being synced to etsy or however that works. So if they sell say a tshirt in person that they physically have already since they ordered some for the event then use Square to process the payment its synced to their etsy shop which would potentially signal their printer to print the order when they dont need the printer to print it.

Basically the issue is about Square being synced to their etsy shop orders and then their printer being integrated with their etsy shop orders.

Hope that makes sense and hopefully I'm understanding correctly.

If you have the physical item and are selling in-person, I'd just unlink square from Etsy and Printful for the duration of your in-person selling event. Why would you want Etsy involved in something they are clearly not involved in (and pay fees for it)? When the event is done, you can resync Square when you need to.

I suggest setting up 2 different locations on your Square account. One account can be linked to your Etsy account and the other account will not. Just switch locations when selling in person when you have stock in hand. Switch to the account link to Etsy when you do not have inventory.
