Images wrongly identified as collages

7 of my listings are marked as having issues because the first images are identified as collages. They're not collages, they're chart-type images.

Re: Images wrongly identified as collages

The search algorithm isn't human, so regarding search result placement, all that matters is what the bots can detect.  If the bots think those are collages, the bots will downgrade the listing visibility.  There's no getting around how the bots are evaluating each listing other than to appease the bot gods.  Of course, every seller is free to change listings or not, but the search bots will continue to evaluate listings according to what they see.   Photo quality is a huge factor in how the listings are evaluated and the bots look at anything collage-esque as lower quality.

Shops with large and faithful followings, including healthy sales and good reviews, will be able to continue using whatever photos have been working all along. They will be able to somewhat override the impact of the "photo quality" factor in the search algorithm and continue to enjoy higher search result placement.  Shops without such a history will see a drop in visibility unless they offer photos that meet the algorithm's quality standards.

Re: Images wrongly identified as collages

AI is still learning and very young.  It doesn't understand differences right now.  Etsy is very reliant on AI.  Because of this some of Etsy's suggestions may not be relevant and need to be evaluated.  In this case the suggestions need to be ignored due to AI misunderstanding the images.  If the listing is selling well the quality score will override most of Etsy's suggestions.
