I qualified for star seller but did not receive badge

My ratings for last month were - 100%, 4.8, 100% but I am not listed as star seller. What happened?

Star seller is calculated using the past 3 months put together. That's April, May, and June.

I'm not trying to be awkward here, but have you met the threshold amount for the 3 months (US is $300USD)? This is also taken into account for the SS badge, even if you qualify with the messages, shipping and reviews and no overdue bill.

If you have met all the criteria it may take some time today for your SS qualifying to show up.....mine only just did about an hour ago, but last month it was midday before it showed.

In addition to the minimum dollar amount for sales, you must have had 10 or more total sales during April, May, and June.

Yes, I met the sales threshold and my account says it is updated for July but is not showing that the badge for reviews. I am wondering if it is an issue with the change in metrics from 95% 5 star to 4.8 average.

The amount of sales has changed from 10 to 5 more recently (even though the 300usd hasn't changed) and if reviews are 4.8 or above it still qualifies. I think you should just give it some time and it might update for you.

I did just go back and add a thanks. The message is four days old now. Don't know if that will help out but at least insteps the clock on it. And also, I noted that did not show up in my own shop messages. I only realized it was an issue, when  my 5 star status updated for  July and the messages had a '89' rating when the night before they were '100'. Also, this message did not show up in my own shop messages, just in the report. Sad to lose my streak. Holiday weekend and I just started a sale.

And no star seller badge even though qualified. This unfair and unreasonable system contributes to the thought that sellers may be better served if they NEVER purchased anything from a star seller because how can you trust what ETSY is doing with record keeping. ETSY give us an "Opt-Out" option of this ridiculous program.

Hi- The same thing happened to me. I received a message from an Etsy seller for an item I had purchased. It only included a standardized link about the shipping and the link didn't work. But I didn't bother the seller about it because I could use the regular Etsy shopping app to see it had shipped. If I had only known that I needed to respond I would have done it, but it was a personal purchase - nothing to do with my own shop. Disappointed as I work so hard to respond quickly and I had a good track record.

So heads up fellow Etsy sellers AND shoppers - the algorithm for message response includes all personal messages to you NOT just your shop messages. This was not clear to me and in truth, I usually do respond to personal messages quite quickly. This was not spam, just a standardized message for a personal purchase.

You can mark the message as spam, seeing as the message wasn't particularly relevant and the info was elsewhere about the shipping. This may change your metric, though I'm unsure about it for this month, It just may make the difference.

Good idea, but I hesitate to slam a perfectly good Etsy vendor with a spam report.

If I had just know, I would have just said 'thanks'.

I think that it will not affect the vendor if you just mark it as spam. It would take you to complain officially about spam message in order for it to affect them.

Etsy does not get notified when a message is marked as spam.

(This goes against common sense, of course. Anywhere else, marking something as spam is a ding to the sender...)

I am sure that I read the update, but I just did not understand that the 'Etsy Buyer' would be me. Looking forward, if/when I have closed my shop for vacation, I always set a vacation message. The time limit on this is 5 days. If I am camping and away from cell service, I will be mindful not to do an of my own Etsy shopping to limit the risk unexpected seller messages when I am out of range. Hold the mail AND hold off on my shopping on Etsy. 

Live and learn; better now than mid-holiday end-of-year. I'm still bummed that I misunderstood this angle of the Star Seller ratings change.
