Last night before the star seller deadline I was shocked to notice my shipping stat had dropped to 90% due to having no tracking info on aseveral of my latest sales. This however was not true, I always add tracking and have done dilligently for every sale. The star seller algo however stated otherwise.
Perplexed I mentioned this to support, they stated that I needed to wait 24hours for it to update, which was fair enough - but lo and behold now I have no star seller.
Here is my CSV file for last review and this is my current updated this morning after losing Star seller status.
[AFTER BEING AUTOMODERATED looks like I cant have links?] [PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR COPY AND PASTING]
You'll notice that 6 orders at the end of the review period stated no tracking, but they have vanished on the current csv (which is rated at 98%). There is one (the 7th) that I did not add tracking as I hand delivered the order.
The deliver by date on these phantom listings are the 1st of November, so they at the very least should be on the current review CSV. but no, they have vanished - and yet were on my previous review CSV, incorrectly stating there was no tracking provided.
Take for example order number [Ive removed this as its being automoderated], this is the last one of the orders in the last review CSV indicating that there is no tracking number and casuing me to lose star seller status. It has completely vanished from the current CSV - despite being a real order, with tracking still listed in my etsy shop Orders & Delivery section.
I know so many people come here annoyed that they diddnt get star seller status due to some reason or another, and perhaps Im overlooking something too - not that I can tell however, I've always added tracking as soon as Ive shipped it, in fact its how I update the shipped status on the etsy app.
This is incredibly frustrating.
You've got them mixed around, the Orders due to ship in November were INCLUDED in the SSP calculation for October, and have been REMOVED from the current SSP CSV for November
But they were included in October's SSP calculations.
Which wouldnt be bad as I shipped them on time, with tracking, but the CSV states they have no tracking.
Is this not odd?
Also as far as I can tell, as they are now NOT IN THE CSV AT ALL, they have not been added to the November SSP, and have only been used in the October SSP calculation ,and then REMOVED for some reason.
@SvenStudios I am not sure how you are downloading the CSVs?
Your CSV for October looks "odd" as the Orders are not in the "correct" Order - Dates are not sequential. I have never seen any of my CSVs presented in this way. Is it possible that you are experiencing some technical issue downloading the CSVs?
Also, remember the August data will drop off the end of the Current (Nov) data. That is why your % changed.
To be honest, although there are many issues with some Etsy systems, I have never seen any discrepancy / error with the SSP calculations.
"but the CSV states they have no tracking.
Is this not odd?"
No, actually this is not odd. Etsy uses data obtained from "Aftership" database and this is not updated in "real time". Sometimes it takes a few hours/days to update and the Etsy system will update when "Aftership" does.
I've simply copied and pasted what is at the bottom of each of the CSV files - the order of the dates are as they are in the originals.
The august data dropping off will not have affected the score much at all, as I have a perfect record - except for this hand delivery, and another -similar- shipping error in August, but its negligible.
The % has changed due to these 6 orders no longer being a part of the CSV.
I downloaded the CSV files via the etsy shop manager 'star seller' section 'Download message & order history' both in the current review period and the Last review period.
"No, actually this is not odd. Etsy uses data obtained from "Aftership" database and this is not updated in "real time". Sometimes it takes a few hours/days to update and the Etsy system will update when "Aftership" does."
This isnt the portion I meant was odd, as you stated - the order due to ship in November would be put towards the November SSP calculations, NOT the October. But this is what has happened in this case.
Well, as I said, the CSV for October does look "odd". I am not sure why it is being presented in the format you are seeing.
Hopefully, the data will update correctly in a few days.
@CarpetCollectionAU which is too late for star seller
@SvenStudios Unfortunately, this may be the case.
I have just had another thought. Australia is well ahead of UTC/Etsy time. It is still 01 Nov in Etsyland. I am not sure if this makes any difference, but the CSV data we are looking at on 02 Nov here is for 01 Nov in Etsyland. These date differences may have something to do with the issue? I am continually having to convert the 3 different timestamps used for different processes - Local Time / Etsy Brooklyn US Time and UTC.
I hope this CSV updates correctly for you. I have checked my 5 Shops and the CSVs for all are as would be expected.
Hello!
You have some really beautiful items in your shop. I think you are giving wasting too much time stressing on the star seller status. I have it, it hasn't increased or decreased my sales, in fact I would say it's basically useless. And, certainty not worth the angst you are experiencing.
My best advise, change all the time you are complying your info (stats), into create and posting more lovely items instead.
That’s all well and good, and I certainly understand the sentiment and I even agree with you - it’s still a cop out though - it’s something that shops are supposed to aspire to, for it not to be achieved due to something like this is frustrating
