I have Etsy Payments but PayPal option is missing – Anyone else affected?

Hello everyone,

I have Etsy Payments enabled in my shop, but for some reason, the PayPal option is missing, which is seriously affecting my sales. Many customers prefer to pay with PayPal for its security and convenience, and without it, I am at a disadvantage compared to other shops that have this option.

I’ve contacted Etsy support multiple times, but all I’ve been told is that it's a technical issue they are working on, though they can’t provide an estimated time for a fix. Meanwhile, my shop is losing potential sales.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? What actions have you taken or what solutions have you been offered? I’m hoping to find a clear resolution from Etsy or at least figure out how to escalate this process.

Europe?  But where in Europe?  German sellers have been having issues with having PayPal.  I don't know about other countries.

There is no way of knowing if you are losing sales unless buyers are contacting you to ask.

(I suggest adding actual location.  A generic Europe looks suspicious to buyers.  And you need to add your EU shop policies such as GDPR)

Hello, I have absolutely the same Problem.

I see an order on my dashboard. After a few minutes it is canceled due to payment Problems.

@PlumCottageDesign   It may be due to lack of PayPal or it is due to the customers CC card being denied.  We don't know how a buyer purchases.  We are not given that information.  So the only way you would know how they tried to buy is if they contacted you.  Don't forget that many orders that fail are due to credit card fraud.

Hi, yes - I do have the exact same problem... It is really bad, as potential customers ask me when it will be available.

I do have a big issue with this, and also don´t know what to do.. 

Etsy support can´t help..  My shop is located in Germany.

@RelaxArtSkills  As I said above there is a problem with PayPal being added.  It's been going on for some time.  No one knows why except Etsy and PayPal.

You need to add ALL shop members to your ABOUT section ... both you & your sister, and anyone else that helps run this shop ... the weird thing is I don't even see you listed as a shop member!

I read in the forums that some country's will be having paypal removed. You might want to look into this.

@StonesAndLeatherUS   New sellers in the EU have ETsy payments but it lacks PayPal.  THis has been going on for months.

Etsy is removing stand alone PayPal as of August.  Those shops will no longer be on Etsy.
