I didn't get a Star Seller badge for the review period: 01 July–30 September, 2023

Hi guys,

For the last review period: 01 July–30 September, 2023, it was showing that my shop met all requirements for a Star Seller badge but I haven't get it until today. I know that we should wait for 24 hours to be updated but now it's on October 3rd. And in my "Last Review Period", it's just showing 2 criteria: "Message Response Rate" and "Average Rating", not all the criteria as previously ("Number of Orders" or "Sales").

Also, in the current review period, 3 days ago I got 2 seperate messages from the same customer (one with "Help Request", one with regular message) so I just replied her first message because two messages had the same question. She was happy with my answer. But the thing is Etsy decreased the percentage of my Message Response Rate to 88% since I didn't reply that customer's second message. 

Could anyone pls help to explain these situations for me? I think we are trying our best to be able to earn the Star Seller badge during 3 months, but it's kind of disappointed when not getting it as our expectation.

There's nothing that can be done. 90 days need to have passed since the first sale. And only after that, the badge can be rewarded on the first of the following month. (You won't get it immediately following those 90 days, no matter what your scores are.)

Basically they're showing you that you would have gotten the badge if your shop was actually being considered for it. It would be clearer if they just didn't show any scores until the 90 days had passed.

You have no badges at all which means you did not meet the $300 minimum + at least 5 orders.

I already hit those two criteria, since it shown in the last review period, and now it disappeared that's why I'm confused...

On top of the 5 sales and $300 minimum you need to hit, it also needs to be at least 90 days since your first sale. Your first review is at the end of July, so it's also possible the 90 days was not met yet before Oct. 1st.

You have to respond to all messages. A help request is a different system than the regular messages, so responding to one doesn't satisfy the requirement for the other one. 

I just respond to the second message with, 'I have answered your question in the other message', or 'please see other message thread'.

Please keep in mind that if a customer asks for a refund, a message within the refund system doesn't satisfy the response requirement (that's a 3rd message system, and none of the 3 talk to each other). I've seen many sellers get confused by this also, so just a pre-warning

Thank you for your answers. It's helpful. But why did it show in the last review period that the "Review" criteria met the requirement with a green tick icon? So I thought I have met all requirements.

Honestly I don't know for sure, but I think it shows you where you are progress wise, even if you're not quite there with the timeline. That way you know where you stand before the 90 days has passed, so you can already be on track preemptively. Same with the other metrics, it will show you your message and review rates before you have enough qualifying sales.

It looks like you're going to get the badge even if you haven't passed 90 days. But you don't actually get it until the time has passed. I have this situation in my other shop. I had thought 90 days had passed by the way they were displaying the star dashboard, but it changed again on the first of the month.

@Adorabilities right! What I didn't get is it shown I met all the requirements (included number of orders and sales as well) in the previous period, but now it's just showing 2 criteria boxes of "Message Response Rate" and "Average Rating". So what would you do with your second shop? just wating for Etsy to update or what should we do? Thank you!
