I did not purchase a shipping label but Etsy shows that I did

I printed out the packing slip for a new order earlier today. Later on I went to print out the shipping label. Etsy is showing that the shipping label has already been purchased and the shipping status is showing as Pre-transit and that USPS is awaiting the item in North Carolina. I did NOT purchase a shipping label and I am in California, not NC. The shipping address is in Massachusetts.

As far as I can tell, my account has not been hacked. So what could the problem be? I am not going to try to ship the item until I can get this sorted out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like an Etsy glitch ... if you have not purchased a label, and your account & CSV shows the same, then I would contact Etsy and ask how to proceed ... maybe even extend the shipping date out.  Good luck!

Before contacting etsy I'd look more closely at what is happening.  

Start by looking at the label (click print) and see what it says as far as where it's going and where it's being sent from. 

Then look at your payment account to see if this label was charged to your account.  

Then contact etsy and explain what's happening and see what they can do to correct it.  

You might need to ship it before it is resolved on etsy's end.  It's not their fault there is an issue on the back end so get it on the way to them by purchasing a label with the correct info.  That could be here on etsy, through Pirate Ship, the USPS website, etc.

I can't look at the label because I didn't purchase it. It was not charged to my account.

I wouldn't wait to ship the item, your customer has nothing to do with what may be a glitch with the label. You don't need their help to get it sorted.

If you find record of the label in your account, you can cancel it for a refund and then purchase the correct one. This will at least get you back on track until you can resolve what happened.
