Hi,
I have another Etsy shop for which I have set up security codes to login. Once I login, I get a call with a code that I put into Etsy and my account opens up. It was working fine till today. Today, the codes are not going on my phone, the phone does not ring when they come in,am getting empty messages because the codes are going on my voicemail but they can't be left as messages as messages.
I have been getting calls, so the problem isn't my phone.
I know what to do to turn these off, the only problem is that to turn them off, I must be in my account, which I can't access????
Please help....
Lynn

I realise also, (I added another response below) that most of the calls for the codes are coming from the US and the US is not part of my telephone plan, so I will have one huge bill, please I need to turn off these codes on my other site for good.
Thank you
in the end, it doesn't workm I don't even have a QR to scan and when I disconnected and reconnected, I coudnot connect again, can you please help me,
Thanks but as I said, I have to log in to turn off the codes and I can't login to that account where the codes are. I could not even reply to you from the account in question The account is BohoChicGypsyJewelry if you can help and turn the codes off for me, I would be very grateful I can only login to that account on my phone but can't turn the codes off from my phone. I need to log in on my computer.
Please help
Has your phone updated itself?
I had this same problem with a payment site when my phone auto updated. Had no end of trouble getting it sorted out! In the end I had to get the company to send me an email with the code in it so I could log in. When I logged in that once, it was fine thereafter.
Thank you, for some reason, I just downloaded the app and my page was opened and everything was toggled off in relation to the codes.
Thank you!
@CreaLuneSupplies - the company I couldn't access because i wasn't receiving the codes on my phone.
In may case that was a payment company (Afterpay) - in your case it would be Etsy.
It did take me a couple of weeks to get it sorted. I couldn't access any of my sale proceeds where my customers had used Afterpay. They also had no phone number for customer service, had to be email.
Etsy my phone cannot access the other account, since 5 minutes. I tried to restart it and it changes nothing. We can't even reach you by phone.
I AM IN BIG TROUBLE. I have 3 orders to send tomorrow from my other account, I can't see if I have mail, I am crying my eyes out.
PLEASE HELP ME
@CreaLuneSupplies If you have received any messages in your other Etsy shop you will have copies in your own email account so you can send
You are not speaking to Etsy here, only to other sellers. You need to contact Etsy directly, from your shop manager select Community & Help, at the bottom is Contact us.
Thank you, I have contacted them through
Repeating from your other thread: here is how to contact Etsy on this topic: https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?segment=selling#issue_account_trouble_signing_in-contact...
Unfortunately, this will likely take a while to fix. Saving separate access codes for your shop is the best solution going forward.
Also, I am in Canada and get 2 factor notifications from Etsy via text and don't pay for non-Canadian texts when those messages come through. If you have a cell phone, set up 2 factor as a text or through an authenticator app. Don't send authentication calls to a landline, and never rely on those calls exclusively.
Good luck!
Thank you, will the calls be charged?
@CreaLuneSupplies I don't get calls; I get texts, which are counted as Canadian, not US-based.
Thank you, I just got an email from Etsy and thet will fix my problem, I had to answer a few questions first.
when you set up 2FA, you are given a list of 10 codes you can use, for exactly this type of problem, use one of those to log in
when you get down to the last few, you can generate a new list, and start to use those
My codes have 9 digits for some reason and don't work.
Thank you all
Yes I made a correction to my opening yesterday,
It is almost impossible I was hacked with my Mcafee total protection.
I have been getting calls, so the problem isn't my phone. The last update on my phone was March 1st so that is not the problem either.
My second shop was working on my phone though till yesterday night.
Etsy finally after 3 and a half days gave me access to my account. It took that long because I could not remember the answer to one of their questions and once I only got news a day later. So happy to finally get me shop back. In the star seller program, I had 100% on the message ressponse rate and while my shop was inactive I had three messages but one was completely new, so I lost my 100% and am down to 80%. I have aked, in my last message with Etsy, how this can be fixed, I will let you know if and when I regain my 100%.
When I sign into Etsy, and my VPN (virtual private network) is turned, Etsy sends me a security codes. This is a pain. In addition, when I used Mozilla's Firefox as my browser and browse in private mode, Etsy wants me to sign in with a security code. What a pain! Has anyone else experienced this situation? I'd like to know how often Etsy has been hacked. Does anyone know?
there are new threads here every week, with accounts being hacked
and that's just the ones that come here
however, it looks like most of them are not etsy being hacked, but the sellers accounts
quite a few have clicked on links, that take them to a page to sign into etsy, they sign in, and the hackers have then got their details.
Some have been convo messages with a link, saying .... this is what I would like to buy from you, or you to make for me..... click, login, breached
