I cannot send messages to my customers. A red bar appears at the top and tells me to contact support. But who is support and why can't I reach them? 🥺
You have no sales in your shop, have you been sending messages to potential customers?
This is called spamming and is illegal hence you have now been banned from sending messages. They will be returned to you at Etsy's own pace, there is no time limit, could be 1 week could be 2 months or longer.
Yes, my potential customers are messaging me but I can't reply to them, it's very frustrating. Why isn't there one official who can solve this issue?
@gokhandigitals There is no issue to solve. You have been contacting too many people in one go.
Read what CryzalisDesigns said, contacting people about making a purchase (offering a discount, etc.) without being first contacted is SPAM, and you have been penalized for up to 2 months.
It doesn't take very many messages for Etsy to remove your messaging privileges.
A customer just messaged me via my personal email and told me they couldn't reply back to a message i sent them about a order they placed,
I think there is some kind of issue with messages.
If they sent you an email and cannot use messages in Etsy, they are not a customer. You may have been corresponding with a scammer.
@ForeverWindingWool I did this a long time ago and it still hasn't worked
Good morning, I’m new to Etsy only a month in. I haven’t been spamming or messaging anyone I only respond when someone writes to me. For the past couple of days I’ve been having this problem. Would there be another reason besides spamming?
Are you corresponding via email? If the person isn't contacting you via Etsy, they are not a customer. Don't correspond with them by email, and do not give out your email address to people who ask for it in Etsy messages.
@MugstheticEmporium @Are the messages asking for your email address?…or to tell you they’re having problems ordering and you need to verify something? If so, it’s a scam and Etsy has likely caught them and deleted their account. Also mark the message as spam.
@MugstheticEmporium: "... I’ve been having this problem" Exactly what problem? Are you getting an error message - if so what is it?
OP’s Shop seems to have been closed.
It says, message could not be sent, if it keeps happening please contact Etsy support.
The account that the person messaged from may have been removed.
Okay, thank you.
