I also use duplicate but I tried one time to start a listing from scratch and it took forever. Up, down, up down, too much scrolling and it's just a time suck.
Use the duplicate/copy option if you can and just change the pertinent info. You'll probably get a screen message that you are "leaving the page, changes will not be saved" but just click okay and the item will list.
Be sure you use duplicate/copy and not edit. You may also have to go in and edit the new listing since it tends to default to a quantity of 1 sometimes.

I use a computer and a mac, chrome and safari browsers. I have no idea how it works, or even if it does, on the app if trying to copy/duplicate. Hopefully someone who uses the app to list will have the info for that.
ETA: Disclaimer...that how it is for me and I know everyone has different settings and whatnot so above may not apply to your situation.
