I'm getting so frustrated with Etsy. There's no customer service. You can't find a list of shops or sellers. I'm using my phone and sometimes I'll search for something and I'll get that little message 'Did you mean search for shop names'. But lately, nothing. I don't want the app if that's the answer and shouldn't need an app to do something simple. It's impossible to find answers. Ebay is so much easier to navigate and user friendly. Lol
I have just searched for shops using the buyer's (orange) app, it shows me shop names and products.
What is that?
You mean the Etsy app?
@SoOddlyAppealing Etsy has 2 separate apps. One is for sellers and the other is for shoppers. Both are available wherever you get your apps (Play Store or wherever).
@SoOddlyAppealingYes, it is the Etsy app for buyers, which is orange. Etsy also has an app for sellers, which is blue.
@SoOddlyAppealing Why do you need a list of shops? Do you mean all 6.2 million (or whatever) shops? That would be a verrrry longgggg list!
I'd just like to search for shops that sell vintage or sell lace or sell clock parts, etc. There should be way to do something basic like that.
@SoOddlyAppealing This is exactly what search is for!
If you're looking for lace, search for lace.
If you're looking for vintage lace, search for vintage lace.
If you're looking for antique lace, search for antique lace.
If you're looking for blue antique filet crochet lace, search for that.
And so on.
Also use the search filters. They can help you narrow your search down further.
You will almost always see random stuff mixed into your search results, because that is how Etsy rolls these days.
The problem is, you're not getting all the listings or the sellers that way. There should be a way to browse through sellers and shops. I don't know why that's so such a weird thing to ask. Lol
How do you know you are NOT being shown all sellers or listings in your search?
Never mind. This is pointless.
@SoOddlyAppealing Sorry, but I think we're just not understanding your question.
I just re-read your original post.
1. Are you frustrated because Etsy isn't showing you "Did you mean xyz shop?" Maybe there wasn't a close enough match? Maybe Etsy has stopped making those suggestions, or are testing not showing them?
2. Are you frustrated about what feels like shortcomings in Etsy's customer service? This can be challenging, but sometimes patience perseveres.
3. You say it's impossible to find answers. Again, if we knew what your question was, maybe we could provide those answers. If you're looking for how to do something, I've learned that googling for "Etsy Help" plus a few words about what I want to read about usually takes me to the relevant Etsy Help article.

Etsy won't give search results that show ALL of the shops that sell clock parts (to use your example.) Etsy search results don't yield simply the keywords you've entered, but instead are curated to show the shops that are you're likely to purchase from, according to the algorithm's evaluations. Keywords are just one factor in the algorithm, so search results are not going to be ALL of the listings that include the keywords "clock parts." The search looks for "quality listings," not ALL listings with certain keywords.
