I updated my digital product on my store. And sent messages to my previous customers about the update. But then my messages temporarily disabled. I didn't know sending many messages in a short period of time is not allowed. I contacted ETSY support and submitted a request. But no one replied so far. I can't send messages for more than a month and I want my problem to be solved. What should I do. Apparently ETSY support isn't offering any support. It has been more than a month since I submitted the request.
You can't do that, it is illegal in most countries,
you can only contact them, if they have given you permission, and there is no way to do that on etsy.
not sure how long etsy puts holds on messages for, but if you do it again, you will probably lose your shop
If I knew it at the first place I wouldn't do it. But making my account unable to send messages for that long is not fair. My new customers asking me questions but I can't address their problems.
And whenever I try to send messages it says contact etsy support to enable messages which I did a month ago.
You're only allowed to contact a customer relating to their order and if you send a bunch of messages at the same time to multiple people, it's spam and they'll remove your messaging abilities. Can you see the customer's email address and contact them that way for now?
I contacted the ones who already bought the product that I updated. I wasn't promoting anything. Yes for now I am sending them e-mails. But not being able to respond them on ETSY is damaging my store.
You can find this in the seller policies:
Messages may not be used for the following activities:
Yes now I know. I am not asking whether sending messages in short period of time is allowed or not. I am asking what can I do to enable my account to send messages again. No one is replying my help request in ETYS support.
you have a larger problem than that.
You're selling images featuring the PowerPuff girls & Hello Kitty.
that's illegal. IP theft.
since we're not permitted to assist someone who is doing that, I'd suggest you first offer original work for sale.
indeed! counterfeit merchandise! That can get a whole shop shut down.
Uh oh! I didn’t look @ OP’s shop!
Are the new potential customers maybe asking to see proof to confirm that you can in fact give them commercial licensing for designs like Hello Kitty and the Powerpuff Girls like you claim? You could just add that information directly to the listing descriptions.
You are responsible for knowing and adhering to any applicable laws and policies.
Yes I am perfectly aware that I violated the policies. But it has been more than a month and my ban should be removed by now.
But your still violating the policies around intellectual property infringement.
