Yep. Welcome to the team of dozens of shops in the same boat. Doesn't appear anyone from Etsy is giving any information. I've been through several agents in the chat system asking for answers, but haven't gotten anywhere. Our account is over a decade old and all info is up to date as far as we know. Just totally in the dark as to what is going on. No response from our Support Ticket either.
It seems like it's hundreds of shops...I'm one of them. Absolutely disgusting!
Your vacation message isn't the usual one Etsy puts up. Did you add your own? There are many shops with the same issue posting in the forums. Perhaps you can find some answers in one of those threads. Some of them have had a mod jump on and escalate the problem. Hope it gets sorted soon for you.
@AnniebelloPaper I started seeing "custom" vacation messages over the weekend. The sellers said they were able to change the message!
thanks @PrairiePrimitives
I wonder if that's because it's not the usual forced-vacation mode and a stitch (or a thousand) has really come awry.
Here are some suggestions that might help you resolve this issue: Firstly, double-check again whether there is any possibility that you might have unintentionally violated some of Etsy's policies. Sometimes, even a tiny oversight can lead to such a situation. Review the shop policies thoroughly once more to make sure everything complies with the regulations. Secondly, try to contact Etsy through different channels. Besides the regular contact methods you've already used, you can look for their official social media accounts (such as Twitter or Facebook) and send them a polite and detailed message explaining your situation. Sometimes, getting their attention through public platforms can prompt a quicker response. In addition, if possible, gather all the relevant information about the operation of your shop, such as recent order details, customer feedback, etc., and get it ready in case they reply to you and ask for more details.
Hello,
Thank you so much for your help and suggestions!
Our shop got reactivated today! However, we didn't receive any email or message to say why it was put on "vacation mode".
@AnniebelloPaper we had modified the message in the shop settings.
@CafeLatteDesigns - how long were you on vacation mode for? I'm dying here...
@OurCraftyNestCo our shop was on vacation mode for 4 days, from Saturday morning till today Tuesday
In the same boat. No email to start off and a very generic message on the dashboard indicating forced vacation mode. 24hrs later an email form the Trust and Safety team appears and we get an option to upload Canadian business registration documents. More than 48hrs later still waiting. Extremely frustrating given that our small shop was doing ok for the holiday season and we have been running it for the last 3years. What was Etsy waiting on and why could the documents be requested earlier instead of disrupting sales and a good holiday shopping season! I see a lot of similar threads are being shut down as well by the Mod.
Hello MapleHaat; I was shut down in September and can't even get a ModFabio to respond, only a generic Bot. Etsy owes me money from September, 346.51, and will be keeping that right away- regardless of the inhouse rules, that is theft. I have been unable to edit one detail of birthday in my information because there is not a function allowing that. And in spite of the jabber bout giving out a SIN#, I refuse as that is confidential. So, what to do ??

@GreatBearFrames: "And in spite of the jabber bout giving out a SIN#, I refuse as that is confidential." Have you read https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/25255013479703-What-Information-Does-Etsy-Report-for-Canadia... ? "Information Etsy is required to report: ... Social Insurance Number (“SIN”) plus jurisdiction of issuance ..."
I’m glad to hear your shop got some attention and was reopened. This seems to be a systemic issue on Etsy’s part and I wish they would send out a communication explaining the problem.
My store is unfortunately in the forced-vacation-mode club and has been since just before Thanksgiving (close to three weeks now). My operation is very small and thankfully just a side hustle, but it’s still extremely frustrating to not have communication explaining why my shop is still closed.
I believe the initial trigger for the my store’s closure was that I changed my legal name for tax purposes. The frustrating part is I’ve received a handful of emails stating it’s verification and that I could expect to see my shop open soon. But it’s been a week since any of those emails and my shop is still stuck in vacation mode.
Hoping Etsy fixes this soon and is ready to answer to several disgruntled shop owners…
