How to leave a 5 star review without leaving a "5 word" text?

I have a number of reviews on my shop that are just stars. Many also include texts with the review; and some include a photo. Does the Etsy phone App allow a person to simply leave stars? I am sitting in my Windows desktop browser on the Etsy website right now and I do not see a way for me to simply leave 5 stars on an item I recently purchased. Etsy keeps insisting that I include 5 words.

This question is about the technical aspect of how buyers can leave different types of reviews; I am not asking about "best practices." As I understand it, some buyers simply look at a shop's overall rating. For myself, yes, on occasion I want to see how a product has been received. ty

Using the app allows you to leave a review with no comments. I do that on my iPad.

Strictly speaking, I have plenty of questions and topics of general interest related to being a buyer. ty

nope. forums are for sellers.

buyers who doesn't have shops can't even post here anymore.

Buyers used to be able to post here.  I'm not sure Etsy would want to have a buyer forum.

You can leave star only reviews in the app. I can only do it via my iPhone, on my pc I have to leave 4 or 5 words.

Great question and thanks for posting. I’ve always been aggravated that I have to leave a comment with the stars and so it makes me extra appreciative of the customers who take the time to add a few words to the reviews of their purchases from my shop.

I don't mind leaving words and actually words are more helpful to a seller than the only the stars.  It doesn't take much to come up with a standard response that can easily be changed when needed. 

In fact complaining about it takes more time than it does to write the review and post it.

People are constantly being asked to leave reviews, so 5* without words tells future customers the buyer was very happy with everything.

If it’s just one item to review, it’s not a problem but a few months ago I purchased some plain cotton fabric from a shop here. A yard each of 12 different colors. And then a few days later I did the same from another seller.( I try to buy my cotton fabric here on Etsy as much as possible). So when review time came around I was bombarded with the message from Etsy to review each item. I wanted to give  5 stars for each of the 24 yards but could only do that if I left a comment as well and I felt like a broken record by the 4th or 5th review. I do agree with @PrimFun  that comments are more helpful  but sometimes there are situations where it gets a bit redundant. Thanks to this thread  now I know how to work around that.

For anyone wondering, there are two mobile apps - The Sell on Etsy App has a white icon with orange doo-dads.  The Buyer app - which is where you can leave reviews with just stars - has an orange icon with Etsy in white.

* There's also a blue icon app which is still in beta test, I haven't used it yet.

@PillowDetails Thx for the extra detail. As I started to pull out my tablet, I wondered to myself "I bet there is a difference between the seller App and the general Etsy buyer App." I have the Etsy Seller App and did not want to fuss all the way in just to find out that I have to have the buyer App. I will get there, I just do not have it all up yet.
