For almost 9 months now, my store has had a banner saying that my "Star Seller" badges have been removed.
Because In October 2024 I had several orders that were shipped later than the due dates.
It could be forever.
If you continue to break whatever rules you broke, expect permanent shop closure eventually.
No one here can help you as we are only other sellers.
There was another thread recently where that seller had also lost their star seller and customer service badges but I can't remember the reason. If I remember rightly, they were told that they were excluded from the star seller program for 2 years.
Have you discovered how to adjust the ship by date so you don't miss a deadline going forwards?
Hi!
I looked at your shop.
I could not see any seller badges, but I also could not see any negative banners.
I think they must be seeing it on their dashboard.
Ditto. No negative banner showing.
I am not 100% sure, but I believe that this is an Etsy to Seller message. It appears only to you, it isn't showing to your customers so there is no reason for it to affect your sales, unless you believe the hype that having the SS badge is important for attracting buyers. It is NOT, I would hazard a guess that most buyers don't even notice whether you have a little purple badge or not (I know as a buyer I don't, and I know where to look for them), and it is unlikely to deter the few who do.
Of course I read all the SS rules and I understand why the badge was removed. I sent several packages late, and the following months were off-season for my niche. So I couldn't level the percentage to get a normal store rating. That's why the banner appeared. It's been hanging for many months, and I, in turn, have been increasing my rating to SS for 6 months in a row. But I don't receive any messages and none of the support knows anything, unfortunately.
@zivizdress You are the only one who can see it
Yes, that's right. Only I can see this banner. But the lack of an badges lowers the store in search results. One way or another, this affects the store's status. And I just want to understand what the deadlines are and who decides this. This is not written anywhere and technical support also has no idea. By the way, they advised me to write about the problem here.
@zivizdress The lack of badges does not lower the shop in search results. Most buyers haven't a clue. They buy what they want and that seller's items will appear higher because of sales.
I have heard reports that it could be 2 years before Etsy will give out the badges again.
And if chat advised you to come here, it is because they cannot give you an answer. They don't have an answer and neither do we except what we may have heard or read.
"they advised me to write about the problem here"
As far as I know it's the code for "Etsy doesn't care"
"By the way, they advised me to write about the problem here."
Yeah, unfortunately that seems to be the usual response from support when they are done with the conversation. They refer you to post here in technical issues forum but you aren't reaching etsy admin here. They changed this forum to a peer to peer support forum some time ago so it's mostly just us sellers here trying our best to help each other. Admin occasionally pops up here but that's usually only for a major sitewide issue.
Sometimes it works, I was able to process my very first sale thanks to YOUR advice Lol. (A computer problem I had no idea about.)
Star seller had no affect on your sales. Most buyers don’t even know what it means.
Etsy support said that the badges will return after some time if the shop maintains a good reputation. It's almost been a year since my shop lost those badges.
It is unpleasant situation 🤦
@LillyRoseStories Are you mailing with tracking?
I lost my badges because of 2 of my photos that were stolen by Chinese sites. I don't care about the SS badge. International sales have become difficult. I come here only for this forum because I find a lot of important information here.
Yes, of course.
I have not heard of Etsy putting that warning on shops that just shipped late, normally you only lose the badge until you earn it again. Which assuming you fixed it right away and stopped shipping late would only be 3 months.
Any time I am aware of someone getting that specific warning it is because they broke a rule and had listing(s) removed. When the badge is removed for that reason, it is supposed to be permanent.
I read somewhere about a period of 3 months. But I do not violate anything and my ratings are extremely positive. I have already been in the star seller section for 6 months, it says that I am a star seller and they congratulate me on this. But only I see this.
So it sounds like you are meeting the requirements for the Star Seller badge, but Etsy has barred you from actually getting it. I can't see behind the scenes, but again, they only do this when there is something else going on and they believe you have broken other rules of the site. I don't know what policy they believe you broke. Have you checked in your deactivated listings folder and confirmed there are no listings that have been removed with the red notice saying 'deactivated by Etsy' on them?
A year ago I had 2 listings that Etsy removed because my photos were stolen by Chinese sites. Sounds pretty surreal, doesn't it? The Chinese are using my work with impunity, and I am the one being punished. But then they didn't take my badges.
