HOW TO FIX IT?
Hello!
Prior to posting in a thread in the Forums, we ask that you please check if you are not bumping an old thread that hasn't seen any activity in a few months (or years, even). If that is the case, and you still would like to share your thoughts and get the conversation going - whether about this or similar topics, we ask that you start your own thread instead of bumping an old one.
Please note that reviving old threads can cause confusion for members reading, so always check the dates of the most recent replies before posting. You can find this information on the top-left corner of each message, just below the member's username and profile picture.
Having said that, we are closing this thread as it is indeed a bit older, and the information contained here may be outdated.
Thank you!

This normally happens if you have been spamming people,
You can only contact people if they have contacted you, of if there is an issue with their order, that you have to address
If it's your first time, it will be about a week before you can use them again, otherwise, it could be longer, or you could have your shop shut
Yes - We offered discounts to our followers/prospects by writing to them. It was a while ago.. very funny that Etsy has this reaction..
Can you tell me where to write to solve this? I can't find the Etsy Support email.
@Babiessoul
It is against Etsy's TOU's to spam shoppers that have followed your shop or favorited your items.
More than likely quite a few shoppers reported you for sending spam. Just because someone favorites or follows your shop does not
mean they want to buy anything and a sure way to not get them to buy something is to spam them with coupons.
Etsy's reaction is not funny, you were breaking the rules.
You can't send unsolicited messages to people which is why Etsy is not allowing you to send messages now.
You can sign up for targeted offers so that Etsy sends coupons to these shoppers but they'll only get these if they have signed up to
receive these types of messages from Etsy.
I've heard this ban might last a week, could be a few days, only Etsy can reinstate your ability to send messages again.
You contact Etsy through your shop manager community/help OR any HELP page.
Etsy does not have an email posted.
It would help if you read the rules for selling here.
Nothing "funny" about Etsy's reaction.
Many people do not want to be spammed by sellers.
There ARE ways you can send coupons, etc. to customers (Etsy approved), if you look at your shop and see all the ways Etsy allows us to market.
I'm glad Etsy is on top of this.
Can you tell me where to write to solve this
You need to contact your government, and EU legislature, as it's part of the EU GDPR rules, that you can only contact people for marketing purposes, if they have ticked a box to specifically allow YOU to do that,
and as Etsy doesn't provide that functionality, then you can't contact them.
Etsy is following EU directives, and your countries law,
This is the EU directive you need to have overturned
The email tells you what to do and contains a link to contact the correct department within etsy. Have you done that? And have you stopped sending too many messages in a short period of time which is what usually causes the ban to begin with?
I think Etsy has a function to send customers coupons, etc that will keep you from feeling the need to do it yourself. I can't recall where to find it. Oh, I think it's under the marketing tab
It is illegal in many countries to spam users. Since only Etsy knows which buyers have opted in to receive these emails, they are the only one who can sell them. There is nothing funny about this reaction. The penalties for doing this can be steep. Do you want to pay them on etsy's behalf?
"very funny that Etsy has this reaction.."
Etsy are protecting themselves and sellers from serious legal problems.
Various countries have anti-spamming, privacy and data protection laws. The most onerous is probably the GDPR laws for the EU and UK which apply to anybody (worldwide) handling the personal data of EU or UK citizens.
You are in Latvia, inside the EU, so you are in real danger of being prosecuted when you break the EU & UK GDPR laws.

Your privacy policy is not legal.
"Communication
You shall be acknowledged that sometimes we may contact you for several reasons, such as:
. . .
6) To provide or offer additional products or special offers for you,"
That is not allowed by GDPR.
A positive opt-in is required for marketing messages and any other communication outside those messages which are essential for completion of an order or in response to a customer communication.
There is also essential information missing from your policy including the right for information about data holding and the right to request deletion.
