Help Request: Order xxxx

Had an email this morning requesting a cancellation for an order. Cannot find it, remember the name from a while back but cannot open the message on Etsy or find any cancelled orders. I would always respond immediately to these and refund. Managed to contact Etsy help email. 

anyone else had this happen? Wondering if a scam

To find their order,

go to the orders and shipping(delivery)

top right, (search your orders)  put in their last name

Thank you, done all this , but that order number just does not show up. The message does not show up in the Etsy system either. Wondering if a scam and waiting for Etsy to respond. Thanks anyway

You said you received an email. Did you only receive an email and not an Etsy message?

if there is no message on etsy I wouldn't worry about it.  likely some kind of phishing email.  My email address connected to my eBay used to get a lot of those, random cancel my order messages.  I also wouldn't bother etsy about it.

it cannot be a scam if the order does not exist.

you would not be able to refund.

unless of course they are asking for a refund in gift cards... which is a scam.

and ps... do not click on any links in that email if there are any.

@nineteen27 it could well be a scam/phishing attempt if they are trying to get you to click on a link in the email. I've had some which look like they are from PayPal saying that I paid for something and if I didn't authorise it to click here - goes to a different website, then presumably asks you to login. (I didn't click on the links but I can inspect the code)

Hi everyone, Got a response as I was able to reply on my mobile. Think the person made a mistake  with my shop.
Answer was Yeah, got it , sorted!   All very odd,
