Hi,
Recently I sold my old phone and bought a new one. Now I'm having trouble with my Two-Factor Authenticator app. I used 'Authy' app which will not allow me to bypass my OTP for my Etsy account, as I don't remember the backup password I created on my Authenticator app. Kindly, remove the Two-Factor Authentication from my Etsy account so that I can re-attach Two-Factor Authentication on my Etsy account with another app.
Best Regards,
Nauman
@AmiMuhaShop we are just other sellers here. Etsy rarely action support requests via the forum. You need to contact support directly. Are you able to log in to your shop manager at all? You might be able to contact support as a buyer.
Etsy are unlikely to remove the 2 factor authentication setting from your account simply based on an email/message because they would need to verify you are the shop owner. The way it works is supposed to protect shop accounts from hacking.
When you set up the 2 factor authentication on your Etsy account you should have been given a set of back-up codes and told to save them. This is when you need to use one of those back-up codes.
Alternatively, you could try contacting 'Authy' and reset your password with them.
2FA is doing it's job well
you need to use one of the 10 emergency codes Etsy provided just for this type of situation
@AmiMuhaShop: This is an 'Authy' issue not an Etsy issue. Have you searched Authy's help pages for instructions on how to reset your Authy account on a new device?
