Only* when I use my phone to view my store front, not on the app, there are little labels that read VIEWED on some of the pictures. Not under the pics, on the actual photos. Really weird.
Yes, I have that too. It’s on my listings I looked at most recently.
Thanks CatWhiskers...I dont feel so alone now. So youre thinking it means listings the shop owner looked at? Why would we need that info, what an odd thing for Etsy to do.
I agree, it seems bonkers and totally unnecessary. It’s definitely on ones I looked at as I was editing newly listed items and that’s when it started showing up [shrug]
Yep! No idea. The web designers at work?
Yeah, might be it. Would prefer they work on the search engine but looks like this is important to them somehow.
"At work"...or at play?
Yes, I get this also if I look at my own listings. I don’t know why this would be helpful or necessary.
Sounds like a buyer tool to me. As a buyer I have seen some sites that put a green dot in the corner of any item the buyer has purchased previously, and an orange one on items the buyer has already viewed before. I see it as similar to Etsy's green dot that let's us know this is a repeat customer. As a buyer, I find it helpful, it stops me wasting time looking at the same items over and over again. It stands to reason that as a seller you would have looked at some of your own listings in the course of your day. If you also use your seller account to purchase, it sounds like the system is just letting you know, as a buyer, that you have seen these listings before.
Yes, I agree, @BootifulLabels .
I'm pretty sure it's so the buyer knows they've already looked at that listing.
Yes I also see these in my own shop but only on my mobile phone.
same with me.
Yes. Noticed it when browsing through a shop's listings today.
No I haven't see it. It must be a test.
I only use a browser to view Etsy on my phone, desktop, etc.
I dont see it on my laptop in either shop. Lets hope its a test because it honestly serves no purpose
