A week ago I received a message from Etsy staff stating there was a purchase made in my store, but there were technical difficulties. They asked to confirm my email. Once confirmed, they said they were sending an email for me to confirm my store then I would be able to see the order. Just to note, this conversation is showing in my messages on my app.
In the meantime the customer messaged me because they could not see the order, but their card was charged. I explained what the situation was and that I was working with Etsy.
I never received the email to confirm, but when I tried to reply to either of these 2 messages an error messages shows that says "Message cannot be sent, if this continues notify etsy support."
I have sent 4 emails through Etsy support and no one is getting back to me. This is so frustrating. The customer has been charged and I cannot reach anyone to help me. I have great feedback and I cannot even see this order!! There isn't a phone number to call!! I even sent screen shots of the messages and nothing, no replies!!!
You can't call them, but you can ask them to call you: Callback request .
I think Etsy just doesn't have the capacity to handle a flood of calls. They have to triage help requests, and getting us to make them in writing probably helps them to know which are urgent (I know: everyone's help request is going to be urgent to them, but not necessarily to Etsy).
I’m sorry you feel we are blaming the victim, I’m sure no one means it that way. What makes me mad is when the victim gets caught up in it and loses money because no one taught them what to look for and what to do.
I have asked them to call me. I sent an email over 1 full week ago!! Still have heard nothing. I'm a hear unacceptable.
I did some digging. Just in the first 3 quarters Etsys net profit, not gross earnings, was around 225M. Now thay does not include the 4th quarter earnings. For less than 7 million a year, Etsy could implement a 100 person call center.
My issue here is that I was very concerned about a customer that was charged, I could not see their order and suddenly couldn't reach anyone. Now let's pretend this wasn't a scam, let's pretend there really was a computer glitch and I really needed help.
@KristilynsTreasures do you see the order in your "Orders and Shipping?" How do you know that they were charged? This is a very common scam approach, and it sounds like Etsy has already taken care of it. If there were action needed from you, you definitely would have heard something by now.
I sort of understand your worry about a customer being charged BUT that's something that you couldn't handle for them thru Etsy.
You have to tell someone that gives you this sob story that only Etsy can help them and that they need to contact Etsy.
Etsy would not discuss the "customer's" financial dealings with you anyway.
Victorious, I believe you are missing everything I was saying.
1. I received a message "From Etsy" stating a technical difficulty with an order that I can't see.
2. I also received a message from "Said Customer" stating they can't see the order and their card was charged.
3. I didn't realize at the time it was a scam because I heard from "Etsy".
4. I would think that Etsy would be concerned a with a seller that may be receiving a form from a scammer and that they would email said seller back to let them know it was a scammer and not to reply to said scammer any longer.
