I have just made an international sale and the customer has only been charged the UK domestic price so I have lost the international shipping costs. I have checked the original listing it is correct and clearly shows the "everywhere else" price.  This has been a problem for sometime and UK sellers were advised to use the original listing form but we are no longer able to do that so Etsy have clearly not corrected the problem before withdrawing the old form. So what is the solution?  Any advise would be appreciated. I would rather not stop selling to the US but if Etsy is losing me money on every international sale then I will have no choice.

Having the same issue, and now the Support Chat isn’t working.

The only solution I can think of is to drop the ‘free US shipping’ option. I hope that won’t affect sales too much.

I think I started the free shipping when they launched the five star seller badge. I cannot fully remember but wasn't that dependant on offering free shipping. I might be wrong about that but I'm beginning to think have five stars might not be worth all the loss of money anyway.

I have answered this in another thread. but will post it here in case you miss it.

New items. Set global and domestic both to the global price and publish. Go to your listing dashboard, tick the checkbox of the item. Use editing options and reduce the domestic price by the amount you wish.

Existing items. Any changes whatsoever that you make, text, price or photos, tags etc will screw up the price. Again set both to global price and then repeat as above. It is a faff but it works.

You can check by using another browser or an incognito window and look at your shop setting your location (bottom left) to the relevant country.

the only country I cannot fix is France which is completely potty and makes no sense. Etsy support tells me it is right and closed my ticket. The maths is very very wrong selling to France.

Incidentally, I have been a senior software support tech (not Etsy) for over 30 years.

@SoigneTreasures interesting - thanks for posting!

I assume "any changes whatsoever you make" includes changing shipping profiles, and renewing/renew sold?

This makes sense and confirms that it is all to do with the editing. I will do what you suggest as the best solution so far. Usually the only time I go back into my existing listings is to update photos so I will now adjust the global pricing as per your details.

Thanks again. xx

It might be because "Anything over 150 Euros will not be seen by French buyers".
There were forum discussions about it starting in 2023.

I could not find anything about it in the Etsy Help Centre, but maybe that is just me...

This solution definitely seems to work but is infeasible if you have thousands of items listed. Bulk editing is an absolute no-no as it causes havoc. If only the quick edit showed both domestic and overseas shipping rate, we could pick up the changes more quickly. I have never come across a company which takes so long to sort such an issue. I notice that mods have closed down the original thread as the issue 'may' have been solved - ha ha.

@cindylouwho2 I have not tested every variant, but so far everything I have changed has defaulted global and domestic prices to the domestic price. Renewing also defaulted to domestic. I expect shipping profile would have the same effect. This is why I set them both to the same higher global price, then change domestic from the listing dashboard as I have described. Hope this helps.

@cindylouwho2 I suspect that the change in the listing form was a computer language change to a faster language such as Python or Mungo, which also allows the use of algorithms which can automate and speed up the process. The newer languages also use less processor memory and are less taxing on the servers. Unfortunately a language change means rewriting the whole thing from scratch. This is why all these so called bugs have been introduced. They are not so much bugs as bad scripts which are poorly tested. In my experience none of the companies I have worked for, or currently work with,  would release a Beta program without thorough testing. I have said as much to Etsy. I warned them not to delete the old form until the bugs are fixed. I have a significant list of flaws with the new listing form. It feels as though we, the Etsy sellers, are testing the program for Etsy.  However, our reported findings are being ignored. My last ticket was responded to, incorrectly as resolved, but when I clicked the link to my ticket it did not exist!! Weird, as we are only trying to use the new form and attempting to help.

I have been problems with this for months.  However I opened a ticket this morning, gave Etsy support the affected order numbers, and asked them to refund me my losses, and within about 10 minutes they credited my Etsy account!  This doesn't fix the issue of course, but if we all keep requesting refunds, maybe they'll fix it quicker!!

Wow! Well done - that's an excellent result!

To clarify though, have you honoured these orders, rather than cancelling them?

When I last reported the glitch - 2nd October - I was told Etsy would not honour the difference in future because they had previously covered the difference in cost.

The advice given was to cancel the order, advise the customer why... and hope they reorder (which obviously they didn't!)

So far, I've had 13 orders affected since May 2024

x8 cancelled and lost (over £500 in revenue)

x2 reordered as custom orders

x1 reordered with alternative (cheaper postage)

x2 Etsy covered the difference (£80 in total)

Needless to say, it's not just me that suffers from lost income because of this glitch - that's fees on £500 that Etsy has lost too!

Hi, I honoured the orders.  I figured it wasn't the customer's fault and didn't want to cancel and ask the customer to re-order.
