I’ve been unable to create a new listing from scratch for days! Anyone else?
Have you tried the older listing form? Have you tried a different browser?
Where exactly are you running into issues?
I am using the new Etsy seller app. When I click, create from scratch” it takes me back to the home page
Use a browser instead.
I just reached out to Etsy about this and opened up a case for them to look into it. Having the same issue and different browsers are yielding different error results, but nonetheless cannot edit an existing listing.
I am using a browser and I am having all sorts of problems in trying to copy a listing - I keep getting a message
"your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit"
This appears when I try to change from new listing form to old listing form but it's not exclusive to that function alone.
I am having no problems with any other sites such as eBay, etc. Guess I will list on eBay instead of Etsy since I don't have all day to put up with this foolishness.
No, it's not my computer!
@HazelsSewingSupplies: One of the most common causes of "size of a request header field exceeds server limit" is too many cookies being sent in the header - and Etsy leaves lots of them. The problem may be intermittent as cookies are deleted or expire. This may be even more noticable if you log in and out of multiple shops using the same browser.
According to other posts in this forum, one common reason for the "Bad Request" error seems to be that some browser extensions cause issues - Sale Samurai is often mentioned as the culprit.
Switch back to the old version format! I started having the same issues today. Old version still works
why cant Etsy quit trying to fix things that work fine? Instead of playing around with colors of banners, rearranging the way our titles look & making our descriptions super short while making them almost impossible to find (under reviews towards the bottom of the page), they should fix things that are really messed up.
The fact that we can list variations of our products that include different colors, sizes, sku numbers, prices & quantities but we cant include different weights for the products in order to be able to charge the correct calculated shipping charges for the different variations is just plain stupid. Every other place I have ever listed products has this option so why the hell can't Etsy figure it out?
Could it be that the extra $0.20 for the extra listing we have to create is that important to Etsy? We obviously cant charge the same shipping charge for a 10 yard roll of ribbon as we would charge for a 50 yard roll of ribbon. I have been on Etsy since 2006 & took a long break when they started charging for off site ads & just used my website. I was doing well but life happened, sister suffered a TBI (she was my helper), suppliers doubled their MOQ's, tons more competitors, lost my husband etc.... I'm now back just trying to get rid of the inventory I still have left and wouldn't you know it.... everytime I sell anything that is a substantial size order (over $50 or $60), Etsy claims it came from one of their offsite ads causing any profit that I should have made a joke.
I can't wait to get rid of my inventory (I still have a ton more to list) so that I can get away from all this Etsy BS.
