Hi,
I'm getting a few orders from the US, which need extra info for the courier. They will not book a parcel in if I don't have a phone number and sometimes need email too, depending on which courier I use. I have started adding 'Please leave phone number for international orders' in my text but it's not getting seen.
I have left messages with my customers but none have replied. I have 3 orders waiting to go...one is 3 weeks overdue.
Is there an obvious place to ask for extra info, that I've missed? It really should be compulsary to add important info so that orders don't stuck, hoping that someone's going to check their Etsy messages.
Hope there's a simple answer, Chris
I send a message through Etsy asking for a number and and explanation why.
If I don't receive it in a 24 hours, I send an email Directly outside of Etsy (click the order and there is a dropdown near the username where you can copy the email address from). I mark this email 'URGENT' in the Subject line and ask again for the phone number.
If another 24 hours pass with no response I just put my own phone number in the box.
Not yet had an issue by doing it this way.
John
You can leave your own email.
Hello,
I always ask the customer to give me an email adress and phone number for the delivery person.
At 90% they have answered me and It helps me to be sure the delivery will arrive safe.
Also, I'm only shipping to my country here, in France.
I can understand that in international deliveries it is even more useful !
Good luck everyone
I have to or the shipment is not accepted.
00000000 does not work ..so I use mine when needed.
With the country code (IT +39), it never calls anyone and couriers use email but I only work with tracking.
It happened (only one time) that a customer refused because of "privacy", I didn't want to argue, the problem is yours: I have written proof that you refused.
When I am asked for that info, I put the customer's email and my phone number. I don't even bother to ask the customer. Same thing for USPS claims (when they were actually worth filing).
