How do I stop seeing barely blurred male genitals on my home page!?!? I never did a search for anything related and now this is all I see and it's disturbing and disgusting. Please help.
The easiest way is to go straight to your shop manager page, and bypass the home page altogether.
be thankful it is a little bit blurred.
they have shown me not blurred before.
once in awhile i click on a shop from the forum and have no idea that i am going to see things i would rather not see.
i suggest:
clear your etsy cookies.
clear your recently viewed items.
start clicking on puppies and kittens and chocolate chip cookies and some unicorns and mother teresa or something.
Wait till the 'why do you have problems with male genitals' people come on board......
i am not what they call a pearl clutcher.
i learned that term in the etsy forum... lol
but you know...i have seen some really ickky things here and i never search for them.
dripping things for example.
just no.
i should be able to x those things out if etsy is showing them to me so that they stop.
And not only dripping things, but there are jars full of dripped things.
I’m not a pearl clutcher either by any means but what this site shows me sometimes disgusts me. Scared me to think how bad it can really get.
.
Haha I’m not sure why that says spoiler? I edited out the post because it came up twice for some reason. Did I hit a button that made it say that? It’s pretty funny
spoiled drippy things??
Pearl clutcher …. LOL This is a new one for me.
Do a few searches for other items and your personalized home page will change. It's an easy fix.
I clicked on an image of an item that was labeled as a handmade crocheted coverup only to discover after arriving on the page that it was a mass produced mesh dress. So this mislabeled item caused my entire home page to be filled with lots of photos from shops that sell adult items.
You're going to have to do some binge searching of things you like. I had to go on a journals and stickers search spree just to get rid of the picks that showed up due to people mislabeling their items as something they're not.
The mass produced is not allowed here but the dress is called a beach cover up and there are lots of crocheted ones here. So that is actually a "legitimate" search return for some reason. It is not mislabeled.
Click next to your Avatar (top Right of page) > Account Settings. When that page comes up in your Shop Manager, click "Privacy" > "Clear Recently Viewed Listings".
Hope this helps.
All of the above. If none of that fixes it, try clearing your web history. Then, you will have to review your own newest listings for potential triggers. When I sold bears, the word “teddy” in the tags caused lots of lingerie to show up on my home page and in targeted emails. Nothing else got rid of it; I had to remove the word “teddy” from everything before the other things worked. I now enter Etsy through a link that leads directly into my shop, because sometimes it still shows me what I don’t want to see.
