I am at wit's end with Etsy, and truly can't believe how badly they treat their sellers.
I've talked to, I think up to 7, customer reps on the phone and chat now, and proven every time there is a bug in the system that is preventing my account from moving my earned order funds to my deposit funds, so that they can be sent to my bank account.
I have $0 due for fees, am a Star Seller, my account is over 6 months old, I have over $1,000 of funds in Current balance and even more in the Not Yet Available balance, yet nothing is being deposited in Available for Deposit.
They added the 14 day delay to my account for some reason (AGAIN!) at the beginning of the year (they won't tell me why or remove it?), but the money never gets transferred after 14 days. It just doesn't get switched to Available for deposit, even though it says it will be deposited on that day, and I have plenty to cover the remaining fees.
I screenshotted the activities list, where it said I had an order for like $7 that would be deposited on today's date, and there was $70+ Balance in my account at the time it was purchased. The fees for this are like $0.40, so how does that $7 not make it to my account today? Remember, I already have $1k in Current Balance and no fees due. Now it just says nothing on the activities list underneath it and don't know where the money went.
The math doesn't math. I haven't gotten a deposit since the Jan 02 and clearly I am owed a lot of money. I pay for my orders in advance and am out quite a bit of cash. Etsy keeps saying they are "looking into it" or are "escalating it" but still nothing has been fixed weeks later after numerous emails and calls.
I've asked multiple times for the Legal Team's information, as this is now illegal to be holding my funds like this with no reason, and they refuse to give it to me. Does anyone have the a direct phone number or email to someone? I emailed the legal at Etsy email but they read (read receipts ; ) ) my email but didn't respond. I tried calling numerous numbers I found and their inboxes are all full.
Any help would be really appreciated!
I did finally get my funds released to me. I had to put my store on vacation mode for two weeks so I could prove I had no new sales and that I should receive a deposit. Slowly I started getting the backed up payments again over weeks after that. Etsy’s stupid system is set up to take the money from sales to pay any fees but if it takes any money it puts a delay on it so you never get the money if you keep making sales. Over and over again it takes from the original sale to pay for fees on later sales so you’d never get a payment. Ex. If I sell something for $20 and have fees of $2 then they are taking from that $20. If I have another sale of $15 and fees of $1 it takes it from the $20 until it runs out. Then it moves on to the $15 to pay for fees. With two week delay I’d never get anything released so I had to actually close the store and lose sales in order to get my funds. Amazingly the delay was removed some days later so now I’m back to every day deposits. Etsy has a backwards system and seems very sketchy. Hence why I have everyday deposit in case it happens again. Hope that helps! Reach out if you need more info because Support was worthless.
Sorry you are going through this. Many shops have posted in the forums with similar complaints. Sometimes there are issues with mismatches on bank account information that keeps money from being deposited. Yet some sellers have confirmed with their banks that everything is correct & that Etsy never "tried" to deposit. So I'm not sure where the issue is. Just note, Etsy doesn't have phone numbers listed. If you see something listed online, it's most likely a scammer, so be careful.
I re-added and re-synced my bank account but that’s not the issue. The problem is the funds aren’t going to available to deposit to even try to send them to my bank. I’ve gotten payments before since my store is over 6 months old. They keep saying they are “escalating” it yet nothing happens. Something shady is going on here since it can’t be that hard to fix to give the funds I am owed or do it another way so I’m not out $1,700. Most support people kept denying the issue at first and then finally acknowledged it but can’t tell me when it will be fixed. It’s illegal because they are holding funds without reason and goes against all the reasons in their terms of service. I’ve held up my end of the policies and am Star Seller so why can’t they fix it? I’ve put the store on Holiday Mode now because I can’t afford to keep paying for orders and not getting paid back. Etsy is losing out on sales now, as am I but that’s not my problem.
hey! were you able to get a deposit now?
Same here. Missing Etsy deposits since February 6, 2025. Seller in Italy.
Bank account re-verified 2 weeks ago.
No technical issues from my side since my bank account got deposits without any issue in this time.
I'm very upset about the way Etsy is managing this situation.
Have you received your funds by now sorry for asking
Same situation like mine. My funds were supposed to be released on 22nd March 2025, on 27th March live agent told me to verify my bank account so the deposit will be available, but up until now, the money has not been deposited to my bank account yet. I reached another agent, but guess what, he did not provide me assistance on what exactly is wrong with Etsy Payments that it took so long to deposit the money. I asked if there wear any issues that I should be aware of, but he did not reply to me, instead he sent another link to get support request from other agent. I’m planning to close my Etsy Seller account because this is getting shady now.
@District66Co Your shop is new. When did the first sale occur? That starts the 14 to 20 day wait period before the money is available for transfer. It's in the article on getting funds in Help. Etsy delays new sellers for getting funds for up to 20 days with an option to continue that.
If your bank account was verified then it was the waiting time you have to go through before that money is available for transfer.

Yep! Going through this now!!!!
I am going through this, as well. This is my 2nd Etsy shop and it's been open for over 2 months. Nothing from my "current balance" ever moves to "available for deposit". I do not owe any fees since they are automatically being taken from my funds. My bank account is verified and I don't have a reserve on my account (that I know of). I know there is a 14 day hold on all new shops, but shouldn't I be receiving the funds from the beginning of May by now? I'm just not sure what to do.
Please update, did you get your funds by putting your shop on vacation mode and after how many days you got your deposit. I'm going through the same issue
Funds are on a 14 to 20 day hold for the first 90 days (at least) after your first sale. Your shop hasn't even been open for 90 days so you are still under that restriction.
When you have a funds hold situation selling a large amount of items in a short space of time works against you. Fees do not come out of the sale they are associated with. Fees come out of the first sale until the are used up and then Etsy takes fees from the second sale and then the third, etc. By the time the 14 to 20 days are up on the first item there is no money left to deposit from that transaction and probably not for the 2nd or 6th or 7th, etc. transaction either. Unless you have a super big sale or quit selling for a while you will not be able to catch up until the hold period is over.
This is correct. This is why I had to close my store for 14 days because it kept taking profit funds from fees for new purchases so I never had any money left over to deposit. Etsy uses the profits from sale 1 to pay the fees and then uses those same profits to pay for the fees on sale 2 and so on. If you have like 15 sales, odds are that original sale 1 profit has been used up and thus you won't get anything deposited. The only way around this was to close my store for 14 days so I didn't have any fees to subtract from sale 1 and would have money to deposit.
Once the pay delay is removed, you have bank deposits multiple times a week, so you don't have it use all of the profits from sale 1 up. You can say take profits from sale 1-5 and deposit sale 2-5 since sale 1 paid the fees for all of the others.
Hope that makes sense! Not sure why Etsy does this. Kind of discouraging to new genuine Etsy sellers and make them not want to keep using the platform. I understand it's to prevent fraud but if you've filled over 100+ orders and have good reviews they shouldn't force you to have it.
