Free shipping without offering free shipping

I just had an order for $3.95 that processed with free shipping.  At first I thought it was an etsy insider order, but normally it shows the credit for shipping and there is none.  I double checked the listing to make sure I did not have free shipping enabled by mistake on  this item, but I did not.  I offer shipping over $35 but not for $3.95.....It will cost me $4.50 to ship it.  Is this a technical issue or did something change that I missed?

If its the Pink and Peach I added it to my cart and at checkout it showed shipping charges. I was $6.34 for a total of $10.29. I had a order like that a week ago I figured it was a insider thing. Maybe etsy should have one of those fancy pop ups that says etsy insider sale.

@After9Marbles I had several of the etsy insider and it shows the etsy shipping paid to you.  So if etsy had paid the shipping in this case, it should have shown $3.95 + 4.50 for a total order of $8.45, but it only shows that I am getting $3.95 and no credit for the shipping cost.  I had an etsy order with insider shipping right after and it displayed correctly, so I don't understand how this order processed without paying me the shipping fee....And these were some buttons not fabric.

@NanaLetha  Thanks for the link.  I do know how etsy insider program works and I have had a lot of them, but in this case, I was not reimbursed for the shipping and it does not say it is an etsy insider order....regardless even if it is an insider order, I should have received the shipping fee.

Did you ever set up a free shipping coupon code for someone that could have been scraped?

@hopeandjoystudios That is an interesting question...but no I never did.  I guess this is just a mystery and I will just pay for it given the small amount.  Delete the listing and redo it, in case there is something funky with it....

You are going to have to contact Etsy to get it straightened out.  Maybe extend out your shipping time to see if Etsy will make you whole or maybe cancel the transaction.  Sounds like some kind of a glitch.

I have the same problem : two orders from US customers with free shipping despite I never offered this option (and it did not happen with an order placed in january)... I have contacted the etsy support and they say this option can only be activated from the seller's side, so I don't understand what happened and probably I won't fin a solution to get back the shipping fees.

You have to check this option is not activated by following this :

Here's how to turn off the Free Shipping Guarantee for your shop: 1. Go to Shop Manager 2. Click "Settings" 3. Select "Shipping settings" 4. Click "Free shipping guarantee" 5. Select "Stop offering free shipping" 6. Click "Turn off guarantee"
