Forum language and translation bug

Hi, I changed my forum preference language to English (US) because that's the only way the translate function works - however it keeps changing back to English (UK). This has only been happening in the last week or so - previously it seemed to work fine on the same device. And yes, I am clicking on the SAVE button.

It would be great if the translate function worked when using English (UK), then I wouldn't need to keep changing it.

I just wanted to raise this issue in case anything can be done by the tech. dept. please. Thank you.

Re: Forum language and translation bug

I wondered why I couldn't use translate in the forums over the last few months.  I'm off to check my settings!

ETA: Changed mind to English US to see if that will make translate work and I'll keep an eye to see if it switches itself back.

@GlitteramaCrafts I wondered the same thing. Just changed from English UK to English US and the translation works again.

@GlitteramaCrafts Ah well, at least I know I'm not the only one (going crazy). Thanks for checking.

Re: Forum language and translation bug

Wait - there's and English or English UK translation?

So if I write " A truck drove by and splashed water all over my new sweater" you'll see it as "A lorry drove by and splashed water all over my new jumper" ???

@PillowDetails ha ha! That would be funny.

It only translates to US English and I don't think it works if the source language is UK English (although I never tried it).

Re: Forum language and translation bug

The forum translation has never worked for real English.

Re: Forum language and translation bug

Oh wow, all this time I thought that real English (tm @FancyTogs ) was already the default.  Thanks for this tip and now my translation is restored.
