If anyone has noticed today, the reply box has changed.
There's an "email me when someone replies" stuck under a "additional options" link arrow, which is checked as default.....
(Despite my own forum settings having "do not email me" saved.)
And there is no longer Edit Post in the right hand arrow menu on your reply post.
I had to reply again to a post pointing out I'd misspelled a word, changing the context of the post.
EDIT: You can edit your original thread message, as seen by this edit, but cannot edit reply posts posted in other threads.

Re: Forum Change - No Edit on Posts
@nineteen27 No that's new.
But I don't know what it does.
Like if I mute you, do I not see your posts? That would be confusing in a nested situation, with people replying saying they can't see these posts people are talking about.
Does it mean I won't get notifications when you post a reply even in a thread i'm subscribed to? Not sure what use there is for that.
Leaving that button alone for now.

Re: Forum Change - No Edit on Posts
I test-drove the mute button on a post of my own and got some notice that I had unsubscribed to something but was unable to figure out the details.
Anyway, I quickly reversed it by clicking un-mute, just in case.

Okey-dokey then; my nests moved into the correct position after refreshing the page.
I can't say I'm impressed.

Re: Forum Change - No Edit on Posts
This thread disappeared for a minute, then it came back. One big thing, for now anyway, is that the OP is pinned to the top of all three pages. That could be a plus, especially for those who never read the OP and only comment on the last few posts, completely missing the point of any given OP. See that all the time.

Re: Forum Change - No Edit on Posts
@hopeandjoystudios. Saw the orange this morning and went WHAT? But it is only until it refreshes. No idea why. And no idea why we can't edit our own posts anymore, either.
At the bottom, under 'additional options' it autoselects 'email me when anyone replies' also. BTW...
that could be very annoying.

Re: Forum Change - No Edit on Posts
I see some of these changes and I want to go on record that I don’t like it. First, I have to edit all the time, and I’m a bit perfectionist so my own mistakes drive me bonkers. Second, why do the page numbers have to be to the side? That’s irritating and not helpful. Third, I don’t want to get email replies. Oh, wait, my “email me when someone replies” button is unchecked already.
Guess I’m done using the forums unless or until this changes. *Sigh* Etsy, why can’t you just LEAVE STUFF ALONE?!

Re: Forum Change - No Edit on Posts
It’s also showing my reply to me at the bottom of page one, where I was when I wrote it, even though it’s a reply to the thread in general. And my “reply” button under my own post is black with orange lettering. I really, really hate these changes.

I’m not sure Etsy is ready for unfiltered/unedited comments. So sad that this is their focus while Etsy burns.

Oh man, I'm not going to be able to edit my "your" to "you're" anymore.
Testing emojis:

I don't see any emojis.
I'm dyslexic, so I frequently edit my posts when I realize all the mistakes I've made.

You are right. They're not there.
I guess they are not "giving ", they are only "taking away."

Re: Forum Change - No Edit on Posts
if you could bring this to the folks who handle/update this? A lot of people have learning/typing issues. And editing is one way to ensure that their words are as they mean them to be. I honestly have to do it often, because I put in a word that isn't 'quite' the word I meant to type (like typing wow when I mean won, etc).
Being able to edit is fairly critical.
Appreciate your input here.
(and now going back to proofread a few times to make sure I didn't typo myself crazy...)
(and I found 3 of them (one of them was 'found' in this sentence...)

Re: Forum Change - No Edit on Posts
@CoquetteBath Yes, the dyslexic need an "edit" button.
Also needed for when someone accidentally posts a sketchy link, or private info, or anything questionable. Better they can edit themselves rather than waiting for Etsy forum staff to come do it for them.

Re: Forum Change - No Edit on Posts
Thanks for the feedback, @CoquetteBath.
We're already looking into the issues that are being reported here (e.g., nesting, inability to "@" fellow members, and the missing Edit button).
Edit / Update: Our team has deployed corrective measures, and they should be reflected across the board (lol) within the next 15 minutes (i.e., by 15:00h EST). Nevertheless, we'll be watching it closely to ensure everything is working as intended.

Re: Forum Change - No Edit on Posts
I wonder if that was THEIR mute button designed to be used on US, and they accidentally installed it on our pages.
Gosh, we could have had a field day with this while it lasted... hehehe... ; )
