Hi all, Etsy suddenly suspended my account 1 month ago after my first sale. They claim that I violated Etsys policies, which I don't think I did. I submitted an inquiry and received an email that said "if you believe this action was made in error, please respond to this email." I then replied the email and filed an appeal immediately and waited for 2 weeks but have no update or response. I tried to message on the same appeal, at the same time filed another inquiry but all of them have no update.
I thought the reason for the suspension is about the bank/finance issues since it happened after the first sale, so I immediately re-verified my card and pay all the payments (which I have no idea why it cost so much since I cancelled all the advertisements)
I'm considering reopening a store but I'm afraid that I'll get the suspension again since I have no idea what I violated and it causes so much cost and time for publishing and rebuilding the whole thing.
It is my first time opening an Etsy store and it just lasted around 1 month which is frustrating. If there is any chance that I can get my account back?
If you've had one shop closed by Etsy I don't believe that you'll ever be able to open another.
Is that mean I'm not able to develop my business on Etsy anymore? Since I put so much afford into it and just suddenly suspended it after my first sale. But there has no notice, sign or warning before the sale
@SlowStudiooo You won't be able to open a new store. What were you selling? Since you appealed, it must have been a permanent closing.
@SugarTaffySoap I'm selling online templates and some journal material. I tried different ways to contact the specialist but still heard nothing after 1 month. May I ask why I'm not allowed to open a new account? Is it because of the duplicated personal details and bank account etc?
if you are closed for policy violation, you have to work out why, and get the current one un-suspended.
You can't open another,
There are websites devoted to people trying to open new shops, after being closed. they try all sorts of tricks to get around the rules, but very, very few, ever succeed
@SlowStudiooo You said you don't know why your shop was suspended so how would you know what to change to ensure your new shop doesn't get suspended? Did your bank information and name match exactly? Or did you sell items that violated Etsy policy such as copyright products? What did you appeal if you don't know why your shop was suspended? There's unanswered questions here that only you know.
Here is what Etsy says about the appeal time frame: "A specialist will review your appeal and your account history, and reply with a final decision over email. Due to the complex nature of these investigations, it can take up to several weeks to receive a decision."

Submitting a review doesn't guarantee reinstatement. It only ensures that a specialist will review.
"If a specialist determines that your account will remain permanently closed, there will be no further consideration of reinstatement. "
You can review Etsy's House Rules to learn more.

This is also my concern, I have no idea why my account got suspended which is the reason why I'm very lost at the moment. I contacted the specialist and ask for the reason but the reply is "unable to provide more information about the decision that led to your account suspension". He ask me to respond to the email if I believe it was an error which I tried but doesn't receive any update since then.
I'm pretty sure that at least I didn't violate any copyright issues cause I designed all the templates, mock up and usage videos. I also considered the problem of bank information but at the beginning when I first create the account, they only required the banking details and I think it was all good since I'm able to publish all the items. Will Etsy send a warning/notice if there is any problem with the bank information before the suspension?
May I ask if I would get any reply from the specialist after the review or they will just ignore the appeal if the appeal is unsuccessful?
Anyway, thank you so much for the sincere reply, it means a lot.
@SlowStudiooo My apologies for the duplication.
@SlowStudiooo Here is the House Rules.
You only had one sale and Etsy is not letting that one sale show. I would guess that it's pretty permanent.
Yes, the email that I received said it's permanently suspended but also ask me to file an appeal if I think it is an error
If it was banking info your shop would be like on vacation. Your shop says Closed.
Probably not about the banking information then. I would like to at least figure out the reason of the suspension. Thanks for the information, it really helps!
I'm currently helping a few shops appeal suspensions, and I believe one has now been waiting a full 2 months to hear back, and the other is close to that. One was even told by Support that the appeal was still pending.
Etsy simply does not have enough staff to process these.
Thank you so much for all the help, seems like the only solution is to wait, see if there is any update in the future and try to develop my business on other platforms.
@SlowStudiooo even if Etsy reinstated you today, you would still want to develop other platforms. Never depend solely on one channel for your business revenue.
@cindylouwho2 @SugarTaffySoap @CraftyCornishMaids @HazelsSewingSupplies @hopeandjoystudios Hello you all! My appeal seems successful and the store is reopening, thank you so much for the help!
