Hi.
I can't find a way to make a feature request, so please feel free to point me in the right direction.
An issue I have is, I sell items in various sizes. Some will fit in envelopes, others in boxes.
There is no way to assign a shipping option per item thus, I am forced to charge the highest price for shipping to cover something that doesn't warrant it. This impacts on my ability to offer fair prices on items. Being able to allocate envelopes for small things and boxes for large things would be so good!
The work around is create a seperate listing per size which is less than ideal
It would also be good to be able to be able to be accountable for goods we deliver so they are exempt from the monthly count towards star seller. We don't always post everything we sell, sometimes we will deliver but that doesn't count towards star seller. That is something we do from time to time. Why should we be punished when it's a superior method to using post?
Anyway - Curious about a response. How many sellers would this benefit?
Etsy will never be one for the hand delivery. They weren't before star seller and with star seller they are adamant about shipping. Tracking is for them accountability that the seller actually does ship. And I disagree that it is a superior method. In many areas hand delivery can be quite dangerous to do. Also there is no seller protection at all so the seller is on the hook should the buyer make a claim for not having received even if a signed note is present that they did.
Your other request has been making the rounds for years. Etsy does not seem willing to pursue any way of doing this.
Stick with tracked postage, it’s much safer and etsy prefers it.. to handle different sizes of packages, I set up a few different delivery profiles, one for letters, one for small packages and one for bigger packages, it’s still an approximation,… but once set up, it’s usually pretty close to actual costs, and I rarely have to refund any overs or am out of pocket… does mean you have to weigh each item before listing though…
