Has anyone faced this problem and how did you solve it? I paused the offer. I don’t have any other option to stop it. Then I added a new listing. A buyer made a purchase without adding the item to favourites, but the offer was still applied. And this isn’t the first time. Etsy support keeps sending template replies telling me to disable the offer in Marketing -> Sales and discounts -> Details & Stats, but that doesn’t work!

The buyer who made a purchase and used the coupon probably received it because they favorited something else in your shop before you paused the offer. That buyer, and any other person who already received the coupon code, can use it for 60 days from the day they first received it. It can be used on anything in your shop. It doesn't have to be used for the item they originally favorited.

I deleted ALL my coupon codes. But that doesn't mean I don't offer discounts. I just do it on a one on one basis. When someone makes a purchase, I tell them to contact me if they want to buy something else, for a discount. If someone buys more than one item at a time, I will offer a discount. But no coupons.
