Facebook verification Meta tag not populating in p...

Hi there, I am trying to connect a facebook shop and am not seeing the facebook provided meta tag verification code anywhere on my shop page's DOM (html view in developer tools). This then leads to facebook not being able to verifiy the domain and ultimately prevents me from connecting with FB. Is there a delay in the meta tag appearing on our shop pages? I believe this is a problem that is definitely on the etsy side of the equation, because FB will call to see if the meta tag is visible via their page crawler. Please help!

We're having the exact same problem. I pasted the Facebook supplied meta-tag into the SETTINGS > FACEBOOK SHOPS form on our Etsy account, and then checking the HTML source for our shop inkndsons.etsy.com there is no sign of the tag in the HEAD section where it should be. This is preventing us from verifying that we own the shop domain and cannot therefore activate our Instagram shop. Very frustrating. Had a chat with Etsy support but they couldn't help and have escalated it so will update if I get anywhere.

I'm having the same problem with my shop. No sign of the meta tag anywhere in the page code. Super frustrating.

Sent a message to Etsy support about the issue, but don't have high hopes for any sort of resolution.

Same problem here. Tried it a couple of weeks ago. Code never appeared in the <head> of the page.
Retried a number of times since, no success.
There's another thread that deals with this, it's only suggestion appears to be just pasting in the code itself, not the "<meta name="facebook-..." > parts. Etsy refuses that with me.

Again it would be nice if Etsy read these comments and just fix the problem, as we all seem to be following the instructions.

Is anyone getting a response from Etsy? Isn’t it lovely that we have 24 hours or less to respond to every single message we get (including weekends and holidays) or they punish us with a low seller rating? But they can completely ignore us when we give them THOUSANDS of dollars in fees a year. Not even a number to call for seller support. I mean, I’m only trying to do this so I can get more sales and pay them more fees. They should want to get this fixed, right!?!

Hello to everyone!

I have the same problem since some days. Have contacted etsy support, who replies me that i've added the metadata in the header, and on their side it's ok. But when i watch the html code it's not added at all. They encourage me to contact facebook support, and say that the problem comes from them...How FB can verify smth that doesn't exist on etsy's side? Frustrated

Following this thread with interest as am also struggling to get my domain name verified. Have messaged Etsy support, let's see if they respond to any of us. It's so frustrating isn't it, you'd think they'd want to help us make them money!

I'm having the same issue. It's incredibly frustrating. I initially thought the issue was on Facebooks end. I reached out to their support who responded to me VERY quickly. They asked for screen recordings of the issue, which I provided. They have been very quick with their communication. After a bit I realized, as many of you have, that the issue is actually with Etsy, and the meta tag not populating in the HTML code. I reached out to Etsy support over 24 hours ago and provided screenshots and detailed the exact issue, and have not heard a response from ANYONE yet. Let's see if I hear back. Will update this thread if I do.

I actually received a response back from someone, although it was a very generic response. They informed me that they are investigating the issue and have sent it over to their engineering team. No ETA on when this will be resolved. As far as I can tell though, based on other forum conversations about this same issue, they have known about this issue for a month+. I decided I wasn't going to put my shop on hold any longer so I opted to go with a different site host with cheaper rates and fees. I should add also that this new host site had absolutely ZERO issues linking to my social media. I believe other sites aren't having the same issues as Etsy. Personally I am using Shift4Shop but I'm sure you can use Shopify or other known ones without a problem. I tried to remain loyal to Etsy since their platform is more of a marketplace and could be better as far as getting your product easily searchable and findable, but enough is enough.
