The answer is that the verification code that Facebook provides does not match exactly when transmitted to Etsy "head" section of the main page. When it is uploaded the Etsy app drops off a space and a forward slash . You can verify the code by right clicking on your main select "view page source"
Scroll dowm within the head section and you will see what Etsy places in the head section. You will find a difference at the very end.
They must MATCH exactly. I reported this a week and a half ago and was told it would be escalated to the engeneers . I really do not have any hope that I will hear back. It seems like these items disappear into a black hole someplace. Access to and response from support is a waste of Etsy money from my experience.
