NO way should a buyer be expecting a package in 2-3 days that's going all the way across the USA via USPS Ground Advantage! I just got another order that will ship tomorrow and when I went to print the label, it already says it may arrive late! Great way to hurt sellers! It's giving the buyers unrealistic expectations. Do you think I'm going to use and eat an expedited service that the buyer didn't pay for to meet your insane estimates? Are you trying to hurt sellers and cause more complaints and cases from buyers??? While you're at it, how about fixing the profiles so we can choose USPS Ground Advantage that include insurance and buyers stop seeing first class and parcel select packages! Can't your AI handle it?? I've sold 10x more items on other platforms that here last 2-3 months. Tell me why I should list more here when you can't fix these crucial issues? smh
@GreatStuff80: Based on other posts in this forum, the code that generates the 'warning' provided when you purchase labels via Etsy is flawed. Go by the "Buyer expects delivery by" date range on the actual order (which often changes after the order is marked as complete) which should be what the buyer also sees.
I've checked everything. The "may arrive late" still shows and the "buyer expects delivery by" still says starting tomorrow and getting in within 2-3 days. So that is probably what the buyer sees! Even if they don't, I sure don't need to be! So it's flawed? Just WHEN will Etsy ever fix it???
Also adding since the edit function doesn't work here (smh) that it says USPS parcel select ground on the actual order! Some other orders say USPS first class. These do not even exist anymore. WAY past time for this garbage to be fixed!
Same problem (and then some) I was creating shipping labels on Nov 19th for items due to ship (via standard shipping) from Canada to the US on Nov 25th and 29th respectively but was told "may arrive late" buyer expects between Nov 22 andXXX... how can a shipment be expected to arrive a week before it is due to ship? Tried using Etsy chat and they told me to change the "ship by date" to the 19th....which is ridiculous. If shipping 10 days before the "ship by" date was going to be too late, how would moving the date up help. There also seems to be a timezone problem or something of the sort. I will have an order that says "ship by tomorrow" but a few hours later it (before the end of business day for me) I will go to prepare a label and it tells me I was due to ship a day ago.
Are they doing this to get sellers to chip in the difference for priority when they buyer chooses ground? With their focus on getting it on time or its free, I can see why would do this. The more things that go out priority when ground is chosen, the fewer refunds for the under $250 dollars they end up stuck paying. Its just another push for fast shipping.
