On April 15, several hundred of my listings were 'expired' for no reason. Obviously I know that listings automatically expire but this was a huge amount of my listings at one time that weren't scheduled to expire yet. I really don't think I should have to pay to relist them. Has anyone else had this issue?
If you want them active again, yes.
Technically you hadn't been paying the relisting fees for some time already (may have only been a few months, or you may have been listing them for free for years), so while it may sting to have so many due at once, you're likely still ahead in the grand scheme.
Etsy sent an email to all affected shops.
We didn't get an email.
Why do you keep saying this when it isn't true?
There was a bug that had been around for several years where some listings were not expiring when they should. When Etsy finally got around to fixing it, part of the solution was to expire all of the affected listings. It's inconvenient but be grateful Etsy didn't require you to repay all of the missed listing fees like some sellers had to when they fixed the problem on an individual basis.
So do I need to relist all of the expired listings? Won't I have to pay the relisting fees?

Etsy started out trying to fix this problem on a small scale and were charging shop owners for the past due listing fees that had accumulated. There was an uproar about us having to pay for their mistake.
So this time they took ownership for their mistake and aren't charging you all those past fees you missed. They had to mass expire all affected listings to reset everything. You have likely been given a "gift" of hundreds of dollars by Etsy, as this problem went back to 2021 for some listings.
@N2THEATTIC that's up to you if you want to renew them and yes, you will have to pay the fee for each listing.
@dayspringcollectible It is true that's why! It was an Etsy glitch going on for the past few years where listings should have either expired or auto-renewed and they didn't.
This has nothing to do with what you said above. We know this was a glitch, but your post was about emails, not the glitch. Many people have reported they didn't get emails. In the same way Etsy also is always saying they sent emails when they deactivate a listing or close a shop, but they often don't. Quit spreading false information. Etsy did not send an email to all affected shops. They did sent one to some of them.
@NanaLetha @dayspringcollectible Many sellers are unaware of how to use their emails. In some cases they must have Etsy listed. Especially if it comes from Trust and Safety as many email providers will block based on those words.
Some don't check their spam folders. Some develop folders to place emails into those folders and don't then look.
Etsy is actually pretty good about sending emails of this nature. But on the sellers end there can be issues that prevent the seller from getting
Or
as is the habit of some to delete any email they get from Etsy if it is not an order.
So the problem lies on both sides shall we say.
@ArtDollsbyJD Agree - those emails are auto sent with some simple (or complex) coding. They can go the a spam folder which is not checked by the seller or can get hung up in servers for days or even longer. People seem to think someone on Etsy is sitting in front of their computer sending each shop those emails - that is not the case. Contrary to what another person said, I'm not posting false info. One of my duties in my former life was coding. I know how it works.
As @NanaLetha tries to point out, not receiving an eMail is not proof that it was not sent. Many bad things can happen after an eMail has left Etsy's eMail server. Your eMail provider or Internet Service Provider or even a relaying server could be blocking the eMail in error and it never even makes it to your eMail client much less your SPAM or junk folder.
