It was almost a daily happening in October and the first part of October. The bot views tanked my conversation rate and my sales slowed at the same time. Etsy told me nothing was wrong and even moved my thread out of the technical category.
Then after Thanksgiving and up to current day, the bots went to just one day a week, Monday or Tuesday early mornings. My sales came back once they were not a daily happening too, as did my conversion rate.
All bot views show up under direct traffic with no item view data. Etsy said they come from being featured somewhere. I know that is not at all the case.
I find this proof enough in my view that the bots not getting filtered from stats can and does cause issues. I wish Etsy would implement something that sees these abnormal spikes and removes the views.
And yes, my sales typically slow on the day the bots appear.
