Hi. For a week now, Etsy has been incorrectly displaying the price of my products when I apply a discount to them.
Most packs in my store cost 32.85 euros. This week I have applied a 20% discount on them, and instead of showing them at 26.43 (the real price after 20%), it shows them at 31.97.
Within the product page the price is displayed correctly, and I have made offers and discounts many times and this is the first time that the wrong prices are displayed in my store and in searches.
I have tried several things (change language, currency, browser, reset the offer...) but nothing has worked. I've contacted Etsy but they haven't given me a solution yet.
Thanks in advance for the help.
I leave a link to the store in case you want to take a look at what I mean: https://www.etsy.com/es/shop/LudumDesign
Yes I can see it, I have entered in your store and can see that the prife before and after does not match the discount made. One question, do you have set up different prices for your country and the rest of the world? It could possibly be because of this, I'm not sure, it's just an idea.
@LudumDesign: There are quite a few threads in this forum about digital items on sale displaying the wrong price - it seems to be a VAT issue. You might want to do a search for additional information.
It's a known display problem that Etsy is unable or unwilling to fix. Sale price is displayed with vat included.
This has been happening for a few years now, anytime you put a digital listing on sale it shows the sale price with VAT included and then they add VAT on top.
It only happens on shop page and search but the actual listings page and customer cart shows correct price.
Etsy won’t help you as they either don’t know how to fix it or they don’t think it’s important enough
This error has been happening for years. Despite the legal ramifications. And many of us telling Etsy (repeatedly) that it is wrong and really must be fixed. Sigh.
It's a display issue relating to VAT.
When you put digital items on sale, etsy shows the Sale Price (VAT included) with VAT added. Making it a higher priced than the crossed out original.
It only happens on shop page and search and not individual listings or cart.
It's a years long display issue, that etsy either can't work out how to fix, or won't fix.
There's nothing you can do.
Thank you all for the answers. I don't understand why Etsy does this, or why it doesn't fix it. Although the final price does apply the discount, I think it is something that affects us negatively, but what can you do? And again, thanks to everyone. Good weekend.
I asked my lawyer about this, and he said that because I had copies of the emails I have sent them... and their "We will look into it." replies, I have evidence that I did what I could, and Etsy know there is a problem.
Plus, it has been bought up on the forums many times. On at least two of these, a member of Etsy staff has posted on the thread (though not addressed the issue), so again it is clear Etsy knows about it.
So if ever there were legal issues, I can show that the problem was caused by Etsy, I could not fix it, and they knew about it and were choosing not to do so, so they are liable.
So you might want to message Etsy yourself, so you also have this "cover your back" documentation.
If all digital sellers started honking at them, maybe Etsy would finally fix it. We can but hope.
I am also having this same problem, I contacted Etsy and unfortunately they did nothing, told me that it might take awhile until the page is updated.
