Not sure if anyone can figure this out but I tried logging in this morning on my computer and iPhone but keep getting the message "An Error Has Occurred, Please Try Again". I reset my password, cleared the cache, cookies, rebooted but no luck. After several hours I contacted friend that has a store and she had no issues. I switched from Edge to Chrome, still didn't work. I decided to try using my husbands laptop (both Lenovo's) and everything worked fine??? Thank goodness I can take care of my orders but it makes absolutely no sense especially when every other website on my computer and phone works fine.
This may be something for others to look out for because I assumed it was a site wide issue. I tried contacting Etsy but email says I should get an answer in 1-2 days. Had I not had access to a second computer I would really be in a bad spot because I had several orders needing shipped today as well as messages to answer.
After more trial and error, it turns out using my phone as a hot spot works so Etsy must have blocked my IP address. Not sure why but at least I can use my computer
Sorry I am no help but I have a similar problem with signing in to the forum. I can sign in with this shop but not with my other 2 shops. I get the same error page that you get and like you I have tried 3 different browsers, cleared everything repeatedly, etc and nothing, nada. I don't have another device to try it on so do not know if that would work.
I think this must be an Etsy problem so I would try contacting them thru the "help" page. If you get an (automated) reply just reply to that saying I still need help. The first one is a bot reply and no help at all. IF you don;t reply they will close your ticket. Good luck with all that!
ETA: I am using an HP desktop, win10, Firefox mainly but also tried Chrome and Edge.
@LivingTreeCandles and @ThePurplePuppy When I get the red error message I press the refresh/reload icon in the upper left of my computer and it signs me in. I'm not sure if it's my computer or an etsy glitch.
@SugarTaffySoap et al , I have tried refreshing the page and that does not work--is that what you meant or is there a refresh on the keypad?
Thank you.
This has nothing to do with your issue, but did you know you can upload the newspaper image to your About section instead of creating a listing that's not for sale (which isn't allowed)?
@ThePurplePuppy I'll have to try the keypad one but I use the other one. Did you reach out to chat support to put a ticket in for a tech to look at?
Where is it on the keypad? I don't see anything like it there.
No--I do not bother with support--they are of no help and I think they are all bots.
Last time I tried to get help from them was during an extreme emergency and they were no help at all so not going to bother for this.
It now works on both Chrome and Edge on one laptop but still not on other laptop or iPhone. My husband contacted his IT guy and they went over several things and they could log into the account on their computer and their android phone. Just downloaded Etsy on husbands phone and it would not open! This makes absolutely no sense!!
After more trial and error, it turns out using my phone as a hot spot works so Etsy must have blocked my IP address. Not sure why but at least I can use my computer
I use both an Apple desktop and a PC desktop, as well as Apple accessories. The first thing to do is to clear cache and cookies, and you did this. If you are using Microsoft Windows, go to your file history, click properties on C: drive, and clean everything. Next on C: drive properties, click on again, then click system files, ok, and this will clean those files out. Now optimize c: drive. and restart computer. I do this every night before I turn off my computer. If you are an Apple user go to setting, find Safari and clear all history. If you have internet security , perform all scans. If none of this works, go to church and light a candle.
If this doesn't work, check your privacy and security sections in Windows and whatever Mac OS you are using.
Hope this helps!
When I have this problem I have to turn phone off and then turn it back on...then it's fine...yep, went crazy the first time it happened🥴
Something curious has been happening to me within the last week. Every once in a while I am unable to access certain websites... sometimes etsy, sometimes eBay, sometimes Amazon. It's sporadic and puzzling. I tried everything including just turning off my computer and turning it back on... to no avail.
I should note that we have Starlink internet... and also Norton security. (I secretly decided that Starlink was to blame... but who knows???)
Anyways, a few days ago my husband suggested I turn on VPN thru Norton. Wow!! Just like that, the sites that I couldn't access were suddenly opening just fine. But now, the weird thing is, it's back and forth... sometimes I have to enable VPN and sometimes I have to turn it off.
Just something else for you to try...
Yes turning the VPN off on my husband's computer resolved his issues while still leaving the internet security on
I am having the same issue and believe Norton on Chrome is an issue. I can use Edge and Firefox with no problem but, for me, whilst Etsy is OK, Pay Pal cannot be accessed on Chrome if Norton is running.
@ThePurplePuppy My keypad has a row above the numbers. I haven't tried using it yet.
Mine too but I don't know what all those icons mean. Some are simple to figure out like mail and home but some I have no idea what I might be getting into.
@LivingTreeCandles and @ThePurplePuppy I meant to say upper left of my monitor on my toolbar.
