I replied to a message twice and Etsy is still telling me I need to reply, even after having told me "nice work," etc. I don't want my star seller rating affected by this glitch. If it isn't fixed, I'll have no choice but to mark the message as spam.
If you’ve already responded you can put it in the SPAM folder. Then Etsy doesn’t expect u to reply so you won’t get penalized for not responding.
If you are expecting a reply, I believe new responses still show up in your in box.
The same thing is happening to me. Even after multiple messages back to the customer, Etsy still says I need to reply to their message within 24 hours. I'm worried about losing my Star Seller badge, too.
And you will. Happened to me in the spring
It has been like this for days at least.
If it isn't spam, I wouldn't send it to spam. Some of the threads on this problem say Etsy is aware and is working on it. Also, the one I had from a couple of days ago has cleared up.
It's a glitch and others are other reporting the same problem.
Click on Star Seller in your Shop Manager and then download the CSV file to see if your SS message log shows it has been replied to if you want to check to be sure all is well. The download link is in the upper right corner of the highlighted section that shows your progress.
@michellepatterns: if a seller has added the message to their spam folder, the messages will NOT be reflected on the star seller message grid.
Don't put it in spam, from what I understand from other threads, it will report the buyer as being a spammer.
I was having that issue and discovered that after the 24 hour mark that message went away and I wasn't penalized.
Maybe etsy now has it programmed where that message stays up for the entire 24 hours so that there would be no excuse for you not to see it. That's me just wondering not that that is what is happening. It could totally be a glitch.
Regardless I had several messages recently like that, I responded and was not penalized so I wouldn't worry about it as long as you responded.
I've read on the etsy guidelines that the star seller badge is only count on the first message not the ongoing conversation, so that will basically mean that should not affect your star seller as you've already reply the first time
Caution: Be aware that if you mark a message as spam, that person will not be able to message you again, unless you later mark it as not spam.
This is happening to me!!!! I’ve responded multiple times to people & I actually lost my star seller badge this spring due to this glitch.
