Etsy shipping tracking not syncing with USPS

Anyone notice a shipping tracker issue?  The items I shipped out March 1 and 2 still say “pre-transit” on Etsy but are checked in & updating normally on the USPS site.  There’s typically a lag of several hours between the two parties syncing, but multiple days seems unusually long.  I also had Pirateship issues yesterday and my shop had to be deleted and re-added due to Etsy coding changes.

Yes, the order I sent out on the 1st is still saying Pre-transit. If you go into USPS the package is already in Missouri.  Hopefully ETSY will get it sorted out soon.  Have a nice weekend!!

YES! This is happening to me too. I have 11 orders that incorrectly say "pre-transit" on etsy, even though USPS.com shows the tracking numbers are moving through the system

Yes, Same Here! I have an order that still says pre-transit from a January 16th shipment, the package actually shows delivered on the 21st on the USPS website. I have 4 others that are showing pre-transit shipped Feb 10, Feb 27, and two on March 2nd- the tracking is correct on the USPS website. UGH @ETSY Fix this! It is going to affect seller's star ratings if not fixed

Presuming that the shipper is supported by Etsy and that the shipped date, tracking number and shipping company show correctly on the actual order it should not negatively affect you. Check the applicable CSV file from your Star Seller page to confirm which, if any, orders Etsy thinks there is an issue with.

Yes, this issue started intermittently in December.   I kind of wrote it off to system overload because everything gets funky in November/December when it comes to details.    It's gotten progressively worse over the past 2 months and now just flat out seems broken.

Maybe a font update will fix it?   :   )

I've got one that still says pre-transit and like all the other posters, if you click on the tracking number it has all the places it's been. I asked for email updates and only got one, saying it's to be delivered today. I really hope it's scanned at delivery and sets my record straight.

This issue - I see it too - along with the many posts this past week about not being able to even purchase Etsy labels ...

makes me suspect Etsy is tinkering with the shipping set-up.  Who knows what great new improvements they have in store for us?

I urge everyone to have a back-up plan for labels.

@PillowDetails  - If you're correct about Etsy tinkering with shipping, let's just hope the "extra zeroes" when purchasing labels fiasco doesn't occur again.
Especially since the weekend is almost here.

Yesterday, I was caught in the issue a few others had with PirateShip and integrations.   

In under 5 minutes, I had a pleasant (pirate themed) message chat and my issue resolved.

You really can't get better  than that - especially for a company who doesn't charge  for their service!

Same. It was happening off and on throughout last month but seems to have gotten worse since March began. Every single order I've shipped since March 1 is still showing Pre-Transit, although I'm aware that many of them have already been delivered. It's making a huge, extremely inconvenient mess of my completed orders page, and I have to think hard about whether I've already made the "Pre-Transit" ones or not. I get a lot of orders and rely heavily on that page to let me know what still needs to be made and shipped.

As someone else mentioned, there's also the issue with the buying shipping labels pop-up not working right. It doesn't pop up initially when orders are ticked and "buy shipping labels" is hit, and it takes a couple of page refreshes for it to pop up and start working right. I assume that issue is connected.

On the USPS website, my package shows it has been scanned at least 3 times but on Etsy it shows pre-transit.

Are you getting the item to USPS within your processing time frame.  Are you having the clerk scan and then give you a receipt?  Are you using the kiosk if your PO has one?  If using a scan sheet, are all the items on it for shipping that day?

Is your post office short staffed?  Some post offices are not scanning when they should.  Find out if yours is one of them?

That initial scan seems to be important for Aftership to track.

Yep. Etsy is stuck on "pre-transit", but USPS shows movement.

@ArtDollsbyJD  My packages have been scanned at least twice. The USPS website says they are on their way and will be delivered Monday. The problem is that Etsy is still showing as pre transit when this is clearly not true.

Has anyone had Etsy update their package status?

I ask because I had four packages delivered today, according to USPS, and every single one still sits in "pre-transit" status on Etsy.

@BetseysBeauties  I had a package stuck in pre transit. I opened a chat with Etsy support. They passed on to the techs. Within 2 hours the tracking was updated to in transit and now shows delivered next to the order.

I have 40+ orders with this issue & just spent a half-hour fighting with support telling me this is is because I shipped before the ship date?! When I asked for a manager, they hung up on me.  Infuriating!

There was an announcement that the shipping team is looking into this issue and we will be updated. That's all I got.

Just got off chat (very pleasant). Their engineers are aware of an issue with "some" tracked items not updating on the Etsy site. They said I'd get an email update when there was an update to give.
