Etsy removed my handmade end table because of Violated Etsy's Creativity Standards

Since nobody at Etsy is responding to me after contacting them directly I have to go on this forum. Why is my handmade end table removed? I can't post the listing, no image no nothing for anyone to see. The bots are saying it violated Etsy's creativity standards? In what way? I also want Etsy to respond on here, not close the thread and say "we will email you about it." Don't do that.

Do a reverse image search

 has anyone stolen your photo, and have it on another site?

if so, issue a dcma against them, and provide etsy with the info

They will never answer your personal question here. "We'll email you about it" is the best you're going to get. Most sellers don't even get that.

Did they give you any information on what you might have violated? They probably saw the same item somewhere else -- the default is to remove listings and then maybe respond if the seller pushes for a review. Lots of sellers have their photos stolen and published on wholesale/discount sites.

Re: Etsy removed my handmade end table because of Violated Etsy's Creativity Standards

@LarsAndSarah: It is almost impossible to speculate on why a particular listing was deactivated, but Etsy is cracking down on what they feel inappropriate. (Apparent) reselling, and copyright and trademark infringements is a always large factor, but it also seems that the bots are looking for trigger words with no consideration for context. Just as an example that may or may not apply to you, if you say an item is ivory colored the listing may get flagged because ivory is not allowed to be sold on Etsy. Since Etsy is now also factoring descriptions in search, they along with titles, tags, and materials (and possibly even alt tags if you are using them) are all probably being checked. And the bots are also "reading" images. Plus we do not know what combination of possibly multiple factors constitute the trigger that flagged your listing.

Unfortunately, by Etsy's own admission, the false positive rate has historically been very high.

"I also want Etsy to respond on here ..." Just so you know, even if Etsy Support or the Help Pages sent you here this is a seller peer to peer forum, and should not be considered a way to contact Etsy or a way for Etsy to communicate with you.

@LarsAndSarah
Go with the advice posted above by @CraftyCornishMaids

In the process of elimination, that's the first step.  I hope someone from Etsy notices the topic and will try to help you.  The rest of us can't do much besides offer advice on what you can do.
