Hi,
Last night, I received an email notifying me that my account had been placed on temporary payment account reserve "because you recently made your first sale." This seemed a little odd to me since I had actually made my first sale several months ago. However, my account had recently been in the negative due to receiving payments before I could purchase shipping labels for one of my orders. So, while it was somewhat understandable, it raised questions because I've always been diligent about shipping parcels on time and haven't had a large number of open orders.
This morning, I logged into my account to discover that I had been placed in holiday mode. What most concerns me is that I received no prior email or any form of communication to inform me of this change; they will switch my account off without even emailing me about it?
Upon checking my account details, the only issue I could identify was that my full name was mistakenly in the first name field, which I promptly corrected. There hasn't been any indication from Etsy regarding this matter.
The only information available regarding my suspension consists of two rather inflammatory yellow cards, stating that they've paused my account to "help me(?)” and that they have paused my account to review my information.
It seems like I'm not the only one facing this issue, so I wanted to add my voice to the concern.
I see, in my case I couldn't remove myself from holiday mode, so maybe a soft suspension?
Yesterday when I went to check my account everything was back to normal; no response to my ticket or follow up email either.
The complete lack of communication other then some little yellow notifications scattered through my account is the worst part about it.
First I would remove the announcement. It does not look good to buyers. However if you were able to change then maybe all you need to do is add listings.
Your ID may be needed.
Your tax information.
Bank account verified. You say there was wrong information listed. Computer matching is important. Yours didn't match so it caught the discrpeancy.
Your shop is incomplete. No location, about page or shop policies.
Use Contact us under Community to contact Etsy. Respond to the email reply back. The first reply will be a generic one.
Thanks for getting back to me
My accounts appear to be in good standing. Payments have been going through smoothly, and there haven't been any issues with my bank details so far. They haven't explicitly mentioned an issue yet; one of the yellow cards simply states that my information is under review.
I did submit a ticket with Etsy, but it has only been "updated" without any comments or resolution from them. The timestamp of the update doesn't seem to correlate with when I posted the ticket.
Unfortunately, my account explicitly states that I'm in holiday mode for my own good, and I can't exit this mode. So, I don't believe adding additional listings will be of any help.
I appreciate your suggestion regarding my profile image, but I prefer to be straightforward with my customers.
I wasn't aware that the Location, About page, or Policies were essential for the shop to operate. Is it possible that this oversight could lead to an account suspension without any prior warning?
Wow, this is a first. I've heard of many complaints about different things and although I have heard of sellers money being put in reserve, I've never heard of being put on holiday mode by Etsy and saying this is for your own good lol. R u certain someone hasn't hacked your account. I don't understand being put on holiday mode, as well as suspension and money in reserve all at the same time.
I really hope no one's hacked me. I did a double-check on my email and bank details, and they seem fine. I might have mixed up being pushed into holiday mode and getting suspended I thought they were the same?
Oh ok, got it. Honestly, I've never heard of anyone hacking into someone's Etsy so that's probably not an issue. As far as I know, holiday mode is different than being suspended. If you are able to go into your Etsy to take you back off holiday mode, than you are not suspended were you able to go and and take holiday mode off?
