I have tried saving photo edits several times and the system not saving.
Additionally the photo editor is useless because it does not have a grid to help sellers know what is being shown in the cropped photos on Etsy.
This is ridiculous not to to be able to see what will work. Guidelines are needed.
Secondly in alt text. Etsy needs to populate the title in alt test for sellers. This is a tech thing that needs to happen right away not only for sellers but for Etsy
BUMP
Absolutely. I wish the Shop Manager view matched the buyer's view. I have photos where the cropping between the two looks different. I have thumbnail photos I try to crop and it takes 4 or 5 times trying to crop before the changes "save." Another gripe is that if I have something for sale in my shop, the sale price should be reflected in what I see in Shop Manager, but isn't. And I agree that commonly used tags and Alt Text should auto-populate if you use the same ones over and over and over. Chronic issues which have not been fixed. I've let Etsy know multiple times about the photo cropping issues and differences between what my view is and buyer's view is. They just don't want to fix the issue, or don't have anyone who knows how.
It's terrible. When I order postcards there is always a grid of what will be printed or what will be cutoff. There should be a grid showing cropped photo thumbnails and full size. What a wasted of time for sellers. Alt text this should be done automatically here. They are a TECH company!
Today I am trying to upload new photos, nothing is taking. I have done multiple times ans system does not take the new crop and alt text.
BUMP SOMEONE FIX THIS
here the same!!!!!!!! Anybody can help, please!!!!!
It would be so helpful if the main listing manager page showed the thumbnail image in the same format as the shop and search pages ie square.
But we can still see the difference when viewing a listing in edit mode.
Photo slot 1 shows the primary image that was uploaded and the Thumbnail underneath the photo slots shows how it will display in the shop and search pages.
If you crop the image that change is permanent, so that is what you will see in slot 1. The image you see in the Thumbnail will depend on the orientation of the new image. It it's square you should see the whole image. If it's portrait you will see the top and bottom cut-off. If it's landscape you will see the sides cut-off.
The Adjust thumbnail feature is different. You can zoom in on the primary image, click and drag the image to re-center it, or zoom out.
Once you have clicked on Done and Apply, slot 1 will show the image as it was before, and the Thumbnail should now show the image as it will appear in shop and search pages. With the current bug, it sounds like the thumbnail adjustments are not showing up in the Thumbnail image after the adjustment.
Yes. I use "adjust thumbnail" and it looks good, I hit done/apply, but the changes don't save. It shows it looking the exact same way it did before I adjusted the thumbnail. Sometimes I have to adjust / save 3, 4 or 5 times before the changes actually "take." This has been going on with the "updated" listing form since the very beginning. (1 1/2 years? 2 years? It's been awhile). Because of this and other issues I used the old listing form as long as I could. But now we're forced to used the newer one and it's still got some bugs.
It's frustrating I hope they fix it soon
