I have read many horror stories on here and elsewhere about Etsy financial issues, but never really had one before. My shop has been open since 2014 and has been very successful with little to no problems, but now I am stuck with a major problem I can't do anything about.
I tried to change my default billing card in January to a new one, (I can count on one hand the number of times my sales didn't cover the fees and my card has actually needed to be charged, but I guess that's beside the point). Before anyone asks, yes, of course this is a valid card and I have used it multiple times and have it for other default billing accounts too. No matter what I try, I always get this generic error:
There was an error processing your request. Please try again.
After numerous chats with Etsy Support and too many canned responses to count, it finally becomes clear that this is a problem on their end with my Etsy account. And this not only affects my Seller account, but my Buyer account as well. I can't enter this card, (or any others - believe me, I've tried), to purchase anything on Etsy either. So basically the whole financial side of my account is just held up in limbo. And of course, since I don't have any default billing card, my automatic payouts are suspended.
My last payout was on January 13th and I usually get weekly payouts. This is well over a month now and all support is doing is sending more canned responses:
Looking into this further, it seems that your concern has already been escalated to our next level of support for better assistance.
and
I understand your frustration with the ongoing issue of adding your billing card. Our engineering team is actively working on resolving this known technical issue, and your report has been added to help prioritize the fix. While I can't provide an exact timeframe for when this will be resolved, please know that we are committed to addressing it as soon as possible.
I keep trying to explain to them that at this point, I don't even care if the issue is fixed, I just need a manual payout as I have vendors that need to be paid and now interest is accumulating on my outstanding accounts elsewhere that haven't been paid. The only response to that request is "we don't do that", like it's somehow impossible to them to pay anyone outside of their automatic processes.
I'm at my wits end with this now and am posting here to just see if anyone else is having or has had the same issues and has anyone ever successfully received a manual payout? Do I need to bring my lawyer into this now and threaten legal action to get my money or what?

Hi, I have the exact same problem, although started differently. i have had my shop for many years (2016) and took the You Lend loan (promoted by Etsy) which involves changing your bank details. Etsy has a glitch in their system (I have been told by YouLend this is being experienced by several people) and this meant i couldn't input the micro-deposit amount to verify the account. After several failed attempts (all due to Etsy error) i reverted back to my bank account but they then put my funds on hold and I haven't been paid for several weeks. Customer services are not getting back to me, they have suspended me from Etsy chat so I can't speak to anyone live and they have thousands and thousands on hold in my account. In have already used much of the money i save for tax purposes. I asked if I could make a complaint to further this (that was when they stopped me using Etsy chat) and I was told there is no complaints team but I can leave a feedback form. I will lose my house if this continues much longer as i am nearly out of savings. I have no recourse as i cannot speak to anyone in the finance department and i have gone from being frustrated to genuinely terrified how long this will continue. Etsy are aware that they have a tech issue with their bank verification system so i don't know why they feel the need to withhold our money.
