Hello I need a little help, Etsy forced my shop into vacation mode with no way to turn it off. They did it to "help manage orders" but I only had the one and after completion of said order they still have it closed. I've tried contacting the support both email and through the phone, but they just give me the run around, excuses or they tell me to just "turn off vacation mode" which i can't do. I'm at a loss on what else to do, but I can't have my shop on vacation mode like this. I've been going to events to get my name out there and if my shop remains closed like this it'll make it look like I'm scamming people. I am highly frustrated with this situation and hope Etsy will open my shop again. I personally think they shouldn't have done that in the first place for literally one order. If anyone has any suggestions (that isn't sending in a ticket or making yet another phone call) please let me know.
It's usually a tax ID or bank problem. Look in your emails and messages to see if they asked for that. Does your name match EXACTLY on your shop, your bank docs, and tax ID?
The people in the Help Center are outsourced, not etsy employees, so take what they say with a huge grain of salt.
My name is in the shop name if that's what you mean but I'll give that a try. Thank you
Check your email.
I will do that, thank you.
Etsy uses that for other things than orders. Tax ID or other ID or other information is needed by Etsy. There will be an email asking for the information.
Your announcement is most unfortunate. Etsy needs this information for legal reasons.
Thank you for letting me know about the email. As for my announcement I apologize for not wording it correctly. I have a hard time with words and I'm still learning what is and what isnt professional. I'm still learning about things like that and I have changed it to something that I hope is a little bit more professional. I again apologize for that.
Your shop announcement is very unprofessional.
This happens often when sellers don't take a step back and breathe before posting anything. Luckily, announcements can be changed at any time.
Sellers seem to forget that buyers that are not also sellers themselves have literally no idea what certain things mean. Some may be like what the heck is vacation mode? In other cases, what the heck is star seller? It could also send some buyers running because they think something may be wrong with the shop.
I think it would be best to say "I am experiencing some technical issues and am working them out. This is temporary and I will be back soon" or something like that.
I'm sorry, I was trying to let people know what was happening. I'm not very good with words. I'm still kinda learning what professional is and what it isn't so please be paitent with me while I learn.

Thank you for your suggestion on what to say, that really helped me out a lot. I hope the new message is more professional.
You're welcome! I know you're frustrated. I would be too. I'm happy to see you have changed it. My intention was to help you out : ) It will come more naturally with time.
Shop announcement? Not good, not good at all. Very unprofessional. You're making your own self look worse than you're trying to make Etsy out to be.
I'm sorry, I was trying to let people know what was happening. I'm not very good with words. I'm still kinda learning what professional is and what it isn't so please be paitent with me while I learn.
Maybe instead of saying how unprofessional my announcment was can we please try to not be so aggressive with mentioning it. I'm not very good with words and I'm still learning, maybe use examples of what would be a professional thing to say is. This has never really happened to me before and I'm highly frustrated with the situation as is. I would apperciate a little help what to say on the annoucment if you're going to commet about that. I apologize if that came off as rude it wasn't meant to be.
Your announcement is fine now. To solve your solution, look at your emails. Also, it's critical that all your legal stuff has the exact same name. So, if your bank account has Jane X. Smith, but your credit card has Jane Smith, and your opened your shop as Jane S., and your tax ID Is under Jane Jones Smith that is a huge red flag for etsy. Everything needs to match. It's ultimately for your protection so randos cant' hijack your shop.
I see. I take a look into that tomorrow. Thank you for your help.
