Etsy customer service number hacked

Hello everyone I am here to tell you that Etsy customer service number is hacked do not tapp on the number if you do someone will tell you that you need to download quickview do not do that!!!, Also this all started because of this plaid verification, Etsy need to take more extreme measures and why would they even do that when they already had us verify the account when we opened our store, this is terrible I had to change my account number and now I'll have to shut my shop down.

There is no customer service number for Etsy.  You need to contact them through your Seller Dashboard.

There USED to be one, but it has been taken over hackers for quite a long time.

Never give personal information or credit card numbers out over the phone.

You should have received multiple alerts in your messaging system warning of this before you gave the scammers any information. It's important to read the warnings that pop up. There is only so much Etsy can do. Many of us have been here for many years without a problem, so it's not the network that is unstable. Anything that was scammed was done through following links off this site, where Etsy has no control.

Any Etsy customer service number on the web is probably fake. You need to contact them through chat or the Help email system.

I got scammed by calling the number that I found on Google . They made me download an app

There is NO phone number for Etsy.

You MUST go through your Seller Dashboard to contact them.

If you called a number for Etsy Customer Service which you found on the internet, it was NOT Etsy Customer Service at all.  They haven't had a phone service for Customer Service for years.  

If you need help from Etsy you go to your Shop Manager page and scroll down until you see HELP.  Click this and you get a range of self service Help topics, and also a CONTACT US link to contact Etsy on the site.

NEVER trust a number you find on the internet.  If you get any messages that say they are from Etsy you can verify this by looking to the left of your message list and you will see a folder called FROM ETSY.  If the message in question is NOT in this folder, it is NOT from Etsy.  Mark such messages as spam and do not give any personal or financial information.  Etsy will never ask for your email address or bank details by email.  You already gave them that information when you set up your shop.

It is not hacked.

did you google that number?

they charge to help you... it is some weird company that says they can help with etsy and amazon and ebay.. blah.

if you gave them your credit card info...you will see a charge on your card.

you can view them on the BBB site and all the complaints are the same.

@LordsOfNostalgia There is no "Phone Contact" number for Etsy Support.

Many years ago I fell into the same trap as you did. I had a problem and needed to contact Microsoft. I googled Microsoft Support and did not pay close attention to the details of the link. The person handling the call even "impersonated" a Microsoft rep so well that I only realized my mistake when he asked for a CC number (to pay for a service I, apparently, urgently needed) and remote access to my computer!

Needless to say, I discontinued the call immediately.

@BestMugsByIzabella You probably should start your own thread.  I'm sorry you got scammed, but that's not on Etsy.
