Etsy currency preferences keep changing back to AU from US

Hi I am based in Australia but have started using a US printer, so I want to change my currency to US pricing as I intend on shipping from US to US. However, etsy keeps changing my currency back to AU dollars. Can anyone tell me why or how to stop it doing this, it is confusing me!

don't forget, you will get the poor exchange rate, and 2.5% charge, if you list in a different currency than you are paid in

@CinchedWear - As a US buyer I see your prices converted into US dollars. I see shipping as "free" for the majority of your listings. Some show as shipping from Australia, others from the USA.

Depending on what payment method I choose &/or the total amount of the sale I may be charged an exchange fee. Hopefully buyers are aware of their payment provider's fees & when they are applied. 
Don't short change yourself trying to "fix" something that isn't broken.
