Are there other sellers who also have this problem?
In the meantime we have many customers from Germany who send us a message about this when they want to order.
First of all, the choice for the LETTERS IS CHANGED NOW IT STATES BÜCHERREGAL WHICH MEANS BOOKCASE.
With the letter selection, the letters are changed when customers search in the German language for something that is not correct.
The letter i becomes ich (in English it means I) Letter O becomes Ö which we do not offer. The Letter U becomes Du (which means You).
The worst thing is what customers think when they see such a selection menu and most likely do not order anymore when they see this.
I have contacted Etsy about this before but nothing has been done about it.
The problem is that if we want to change it ourselves, the letters are displayed correctly.
Another problem due to Etsy's super intelligent AI.
Etsy should test changes before they go online, this has already gone wrong with so many things but apparently, they haven't learned from it or they are not interested in testing this first.
It started with the letter i and now there are more changes that I did NOT make myself.
I don't understand why our articles are changed to something that we do not offer and even a letter Ö that we do not offer.
If Etsy with AI continues like this, there will soon be things that we did not write ourselves and then we may be held legally liable for this if something is added that is prohibited.
These are our offers and should stay that way.
I understand that we use Etsy's platform and they determine the rules, but changing our articles really goes too far.
Your shop is in 2 different languages - that's probably the problem.
Our shop is in german that's why this is so strange. What other language do you see.
I see Bookstabe & Buchstabe for one of the drop down menus. And the letter U is translating to YOU. The letter I is lowercase i.
There is a note on your shop page: Etsy automatically translates most text on the site to your preferred language. See in original language
I believe there is a way on Etsy to manually add your own translations or to at least turn off automatic translations. Is that something you have done before or did Etsy just go in & change your settings to auto-translate?
I see your shop in both English and German. It needs to be one or the other but not both.
This is what Etsy does we have no texts in English only in German
