Etsy cancelled an order 2 months after I received it and refunded me

I purchased something back in February and it arrived on time. I had forgotten to review the item, thinking nothing of it. Today I received an email stating I was getting refunded, the order shows cancelled in my "purchases and reviews", and my email says it was refunded due to "There was an issue completing this order". 

Did they take money away from this shop because I didn't leave a review? Has anyone experienced this?

I did not initiate any cancellation and it even said it had been delivered.

That's certainly strange.  Maybe the shop never marked it as shipped?

Do you remember getting a shipping notice?

In addition to @nineteen27 's good question, was the order something that shipped without tracking, so Etsy would have no idea that it arrived?

A seller posted in the last few weeks that they accidentally canceled and refunded the wrong order. Maybe that was yours. LOL

Have you looked to see if the Shop is still open? There are only 2 scenarios I can think of

1) The Shop had very sloppy business practices / IP issues / TOU violations etc. Orders were not marked as complete so, when Etsy closed the Shop (for whatever reason) they refunded all the Orders which had not been marked as "completed"

2) The Shop owner intended to refund someone else, but refunded your Order in error

The fact that you did not review the Order would have no bearing on the Refund.

I did receive tracking and an email when it arrived.

I did contact the seller, haven't heard anything yet.

It's the first time something like this has happened, and I know some people have been/are having issues with etsy and orders in regards to their shop.

@FreakyPeacockDesigns So, the Shop is still open? Then the issue looks to be Seller Error. Perhaps the Seller does not even know they refunded the wrong person.
